We took the gamble on Resort Hoppa booked through Travel Republic for our transfers to and from the Pateo Village in Albufeira. Cost was £24 for the two of us return which we thought was excellent value.
Waited about 20mins at the Resort Hoppa desk at Faro airport but were soon on our way with three other couples. One drop off in Vilamoura, one miles down a country road (sorry I can't remember the hotel), one at a hotel near Modelo and then it was us. Typically last, took about 45mins from leaving Faro airport. Good service, driver attentive and kept to the speed limits.
On our return we were first pick up (no surprise) at 6.20am (to catch a 10.15am flight!!!) and after picking another two couples up (one in Old Town, the other near the Strip) we stopped off and were told that we were being picked up to travel by a coach with others. Not a bad system admittedly to get all the minibuses to deliver to one point for a coach, but it would have been nice to be told this was happening. Waited 10mins for the coach to arrive, and then continued on the journey until we got just outside Albufeira where the coach pulled into a bus stop and waited. We thought minibuses were being used again but it was just slow passengers from a hotel across the road and after 10mins again we were on our way. Got to Faro at 7.50am, 25mins before check in opened but a total of 90mins from being picked up.
Overall, cheap and cheerful. Some communication would have been nice first thing on our return to mention the drop off and getting on a coach but that aside, it was pretty much faultless if a little slow. On our arrival transfer if we hadn't have been on the same minibus as the couple who stayed at a hotel which seemed miles down a country road, we would have knocked 10mins off the 45min journey time from leaving Faro to the Pateo Village.
