I am sat here reading your posts and I am full of a cold and feel a bit low but you have all cheered me up - I can smell and imagine the wonderful things about being on holiday. I wish I was paddling in the shimmering sea right now!!!
I would keep out of the see if your feeling a bit rough, pop to the bar and have a nice brandy... 
im like miss pink, love getting to the airport a bit early, get checked in and just mill around the shops and looking at all the planes 
I also love it when the pilot says we are getting ready for descent. Oh, bliss! the end of the tiresome flight and the thought that we will soon be setting foot in the long awaited cherished country 
You've reminded me of that feeling of walking down the steps from the plane - that "tobacco leafy" warm smell you get in a different country - and the warm air just hitting you!

What about - after your first day in the sun and you go back to your room for shower, as you are drying yourself with a lovely fluffy WHITE towel, you can see that you have caught the sun so you put on your best black or white dress for the evening and feel mighty fine!!!
or in my case realise that your lovely tan in your lovely white dress is ruined by the big white strap marks left by your cossie!I'll never learn!

This always happens to me, so one year I lay on the sunbed with my wrists clasped behind my head - guess what - you got it - I burnt under my armpitswhy can't I get the inside of my arms brown?
Not too bad, but sore for a day or two.
I have never understood why anyone would want the insides of their arms brown.

A few years ago in Goa i saw a man sunbathing with his arms up in the air (obviously so he could get the inside of his arms brown). He looked a right state, everyone laughing at him
Saw a prograame once about Russians sunbathing on holidays. They were mostly standing up in some very weird shapes 
I just love it when we get to the end of our first week, which is a gulet trip around Fethiye area and we have the excitement of moving on to our hotel for the second week in Olu Deniz. We Love the place and even nicer after a week on the gulet as although this is very enjoyable can be a little uncomfortable, even the luxury gulet. By this time you are really chilled so a week of pure relaxation awaits.
I do it the other way around Dadoo. Week on land first then gulet. And I really look forward to it as I get more relaxed as the first week goes on - the tan is developing nicely (not too much of a shock being on a boat all week), plus with the storage being rubbish on a gulet it doesn't matter that all my clothes get all wrinkled up as I've already done the smarter week on land.
