We've had many other meals where they try to make roast potatoes that because they end up steamed when they reheat them just end up as soggy potato. Other things like chicken in a creamy sauce that due to the altitude affecting your taste buds the only thing you can taste is salt...
The bread roll, the crackers, the cheese are all good little things to keep you amused for a short while...

Hi, i am considering a holiday to Italy and also Sicily from Manchester. Both flights are with Monarch i believe. anyone any idea what aircraft operates the flights. Flight is to Venice on a sunday and think flight number is MON3959 (i think). Sicily flight is on a Saturday to Catania. Not sure of flight number but prefix was MON. thanks very much.
MAN-VCE-MAN (MON3958/9) are currently operated by a Boeing 757-200.
MAN-CTA-MAN (MON3786/7) are currently operated by a Boeing 767-300/ER

thank you darren that was quick. sorry i meant to say hol is for next year (sorry)
They'll be different next year in that case as the 763 won't be around. You'll have to ask again closer to the time.
Darren
OK thanks for info. just really wanted to know as im 6'5" so even a 3 hour flight i get cramped up and recently went on a a321 and it was horrendous.
Seat pitches are pretty standard so regardless of aircraft type, you'll have the same 28". You'll find more information on our What Aircraft? guide. Extra legroom seats are available to book at extra cost.

For those interested here is as much as I can find on our flight in and out in April -
Thanks for the photo's Steve. That confirms you were on an A321 outbound and A300B4 inbound.
Yes, so you were on the A300-600 on your return flight. I am guessing this must have been the 15th April. Yes, to be honest, although there is a bit more space in the aisle at the back of this aircraft, there is no more legroom than the other standard seats. There are also often queues of people waiting to go to the toilet in this area, especially after the meal service. Because the TV screens come down over the centre row I can see why you may have had a problem viewing them.
A lot of aviation enthusiasts enjoy flying on the A300 because there aren't so many of them about now, and it is also a very good workhorse for Monarch that holds up to 361 passengers. Monarch has done very well to keep these aircraft in as good a condition as they are. I have heard of people that plan their holidays around making sure they get the opportunity to fly on this aircraft. For a plane of its size and capacity it has a good ascent rate I believe. As a passenger however, I can understand some of the misgivings people may have about it.
At least now though AskCy you can consider yourself lucky enough to have flow the 300
Could somebody please tell me what aircraft type is operated on flight 3876 from luton to corfu and if it is likely to have IFE.
Thanks
Welcome to the forum. Your flight is due to be operated by an A321-200. Your flight should have IFE onboard unless there is an unexpected change to the aircraft equipment used.
Just on another subject I notice in a previous post that the baggage allowance for Monarch Charter flights was stated at 20kg including 5kg hand luggage.
When I called Olympic yesterday to add 'seating together' I queried my baggage allowance as my tickets state 20kgs.
When booking I had not upgraded and paid the extra to increase the 15kg allowance to 20kg.
I was told that i was given a free upgrade to the 20kg limit - if this includes hand luggage then I have not been upgraded.
I have assumed that this 20kg is for 'hold' baggage only and I have 5kg onboard in addition.
I guess I will have to call Olympic again tomorrow to confirm. Any thoughts ?
Thanks again.
I am quite certain that the baggage allowance of 20kg stated on your ticket is just for your hold baggage and that you are still allowed an additional 5kg for your hand baggage
I wil post the conclusion on here tomorrow for the benefit of the other forum users.
Thanks again mate.
we flew Monarch on our last trip also booked via Olympic, to Kos [no IFE] but Olympic gave 20kg hold and 5 hand as part of the holiday cost ..so i assume they automatically book 20kg on mon/zb flights
Just to clarify, luggage allowance on MON (charter) flights are set by the charterer (i.e. Olympic in this case) and luggage allowance on ZB (scheduled) flights is something that has to be paid for but can be up to a maximum of 20kg (or 30kg for Vantage Club members -Monarch's requent flyer membership scheme). Details on baggage allowance and costs for ZB flights can be found here http://flights.monarch.co.uk/cnt/travelinfo/baggage-charges.asp#hold_bags
IFE is shown on all flights over approx 3 hours, and Greece and the Greek islands are included within this category. Headsets are available for hire. A full listing of what may be shown for July and August can be found above in a previous post.
What are Monarch's 321 interiors like, are any leather ?
