Hi Chilly... :cheers
It makes you wonder that if you had not been to Goa before....would the visa fiasco (and extra cost) make you think...is it worth the hassle :que

absolutely......... and also my cousin in Spain wants to go and they are having terrible trouble getting a visa application even accepted.. as they dont have a UK address but are non resident in Spain, online it just rejects their spanish address and the form wont proceed and Madrid will only do it if they have spanish residency...its a joke!!! and i am sure some are put off.. both by the hassle and cost

I am travelling witha friend so we both have different home addresses. Will we be able to post them both in the same envelope to save a little bit? I suspect though that we will have to enclose separate return envelopes - am I correct?

thanks for any help

Hi Javelin,

I would say that as we are dealing with jobs worths, it would probably be better and to save time, if you send your visa applications in individual envelopes and with a return Special Delivery envelope in each. We don't know how they log in their incoming post, because if you send them in one envelope and your friend calls them to check on their visa's progress, they may not be able to trace your friend's application because your friend's name may not match the address logged onto their system as it will be yours.

I know this will cost more, but it should save on stress and faffing about should both visas be returned just because they weren't sent in individual envelopes and there was only the one return envelope.

Sorry for prattling on, but I find the whole process of obtaining a visa stressful and I haven't even used the new system yet. Even typing this, I need to have a glass of wine just to stop the palpitations. ;)

Sheila.

Thanks for your responses - guess we'll play safe and send them separately.

Hi just to let everyone know as our details where still not deleted online, I downloaded the application forms off their website and posted it to the Hayes address on Tuesday 18/08 and got them back on Sat 22/08,impressive,also pictures where on pale blue background not white.so anyone not sure about applying on line just send off a written one.Downside costs extra for postal order about £8,but we couldnt wait to long, as passports are needed elsewhere, and last time the online way took ages

Hi hopefully they've got there act together and people won't have to wait long as it gets nearer to the holiday season.like us you were 4 days waiting to get them back.it's a brill feeling when the passports are in your hands with visas inside another thing crossed off the things to do. :tup

i usually apply about a month, before i go and that has allways been ok the downside is that no matter what you put for the date you get the date it was stamped so in reality you dont get six months, last year was the fastest i have had, posted on the saturday and got my visas the following wednesday that was three days,..........
luci agree with you about the text style writing it is so annoying and lots of it makes no sence especially as lots of people using the site dont have english as a first language

I go to edinburgh in person, so usually get them about a week before we go

Hi all....worry over...
Got visas back today...posted them saturday, back on thursday... :hyper
So when it states "white" background on photos....dont worry if yours are slightly either off-white or even pale blue as mine were....
No stopping us now... :cheers
