Does anyone know where I can find the sample of a filled in electronic application visa form as I am encountering a few probs trying to fill mine in. I know there is one on the site somewhere but I can't find it.

Just to add the link as mentioned above. Just skim through the info on the page that most likely will not interest you and about a third of the way down you should find a filled in form.

Hi The Preacher don't be stressed about filling visa forms in on line.I did mine on lone and i'm a right numpty on the computer.i,m sure if you get stuck someone on here will help.

I'm really undecided what to do about our visa applications in view of the possible RM industrial action.

Has anyone done a very recent visa application and requested an appointment to hand it in at Birmingham?
What date have you been given? I was wondering if, because of the RM dispute, there may now be a big demand for appointments for handing in documents.

Also, if you DO ask for an appointment to hand your documents in and the one you're given (I understand they are computer generated) is not convenient, can you ask for an alternative or just turn up on a day that IS convenient and wait to be seen?

Can you make an appointment to collect your documents too?

If so, how do you do this?

I thought it was all going to be simple this year - after the debacle of no postal applications in 2007 and then the teething problems from the outsourcing. Silly me.

I've a feeling that I'm going to NEED a holiday after all this! LOL

Posted ours off on Tuesday and received them back this morning, so no problems with the mail at the moment!

If I print off a visa form and TAKE IT TO THE CARDIFF OFFICE, will they post it back to us, or will we have to travel again to collect it.

Thought I had correctly filled in my electronic visa application, When I did a dummy run I got as far as receiving a message back telling me I had successfully completed the forms, I then closed the page down, tried again later but after filling in my passport number and expirery date, I receiving a message telling me my passport was is in process, and was refused permission to proceed. I have tried retrieving the information by again typing my passport number and surname down, but I am being told they have no record of name or number, What do I do Now ?????

It says on the VFS site that submissions in Cardiff will only be returned by secured post, no collections will be available at Cardiff.

thanks for that information. I did find on the RM website that Special Deleivery letters will be given priority although the delivery guarantee will be suspended for the time being.

You will need to contact VFS and ask them to remove the dummy application, you should of used dummy passport numbers as it will not allow two applications against one passport number. It took me 3 emails to finally get last years applications removed.

Hi All,

Tried the online application but got stuck on
Exit/Entry details, i guess port of entry and exit is Dabolim ?. but beneath thats it lists, Restricted Area, Place Permitted and Referance ?.

Can anyone point me in the right direction please ?.

Hi thanks for that, I had already looked at the filed in form, but could find no referance to, Restricted Area, Place Permitted, maybe these are only on the online form ? they are compulsary aswers that you have to complete.
