Now I'm begining to panic. As I've also agreed to obtain visas not only for me and my boyfriend, but for my boyfriend's mum and partner to.
I fly from Manchester on the 7 December - what is the best date to apply and which is the easiest way? I've called two shops in Bolton that will check your forms and arrange for them to be processed but they are charging £55.00 each.
Is it any cheaper doing it myself as I will still have to pay for recorded delivery postage?
All help would be appreciated. x
Think it might be cheaper doing it yourself visas x 2 about £78.00 plus special delivery envelope each way ours came back in four days, friends sent last week came back in five days we sent them to Hayes
just sent ours last week2x visa and fees,2 lots of photos,2 x special delivery envellopes and postal order charge,,total £106 certainly a saving if you do it yourself
could have saved the postal order charge but the pop up payment window on the online application form wasn,t working at the time.
I personaly would do it myself.Visas cost enough without mpaying an agent to do them.Remember to sent enough special delivery envelopes as only 2 per envelope allowed.If i can do it on line anyone can

I emailed VFS with my request, to have my original application cleared from thier system, do you know how long it normally takes??
should I gave them a few days to sort it or email again today.

you could always try phoning them. I know people have said in the past that it has been difficult to get through but my brother phoned them this morning and got straight through. His problem was that he forgot to get his return SDE stamped.They were very helpful and said as soon as they got his application they would phone him and he could pay for the postage by credit card.

i`ve been told that you have to have 28 days remaining on your visa on return to the uk,is this correct

I think that the information is incorrect as we had only 2 weeks left on our visa when we returned earlier this year!
Definatly not right ,many times we have not had 28 days left on the visa s:tup

I got an automated reply, nothing happened after 2-3days so I emailed again, then after 2 more days emailed a very strong worded email and marked it urgent and they finally removed it but did not email to acknowledge that it had been done, you will have to keep checking by putting your passport number and details in to the VFS page, link below, be persistent, good luck

VFS have sent me an email asking for my passport number again so they can proceed with my request.

I am going to apply for my visa in Oct for trip in Nov, I am going on trip to Pune and then triangle tour in Feb for 3 weeks so need visa to cover both. Does anyone know what I should put in the arrival and departure port and on the restricted area and place permitted on the form as it will be different on my next trip? 
Just a bit of information re my visa application which may help people to decide how to apply:
We posted our visa applications around 5pm Monday 21st September - we did the online application and also paid online.
I tracked the SDE and it had been delivered before midday 22/9.
I checked VFS website yesterday afternoon and it said they'd been handed to RM for delivery.
Received them this morning about 11:30 am.
I know that some areas of the country are experiencing more postal problems than others but I checked the RM website which said that priority was given to delivery of Special Delivery items although they were suspending the 'Next Day delivery' guarantee.
In the event, both outward and inward packages were delivered within the deadlines.
I'm not sure when CWU are meeting to discuss possible strike action.

Does anyone know what or where I am going wrong.

Hi Preacher, I had a similar problem and then realised that when putting in my web reference,( it started as WOO) I was putting the O's in as letters instead of numbers, when I put them as numbers I was able to access my application. I hope this may be your problem!!!
Just filled in, paid for, and downloaded our forms but when I then clicked on the link to get an appointment time to go through to Edinburgh to submit them, all that comes up is the message "Please wait the system has been blocked for the allocation process" Tried waiting, nothing happened, tried an hour later, same message, called the 95p help line, got cut off twice, any suggestions ? Alan
