I thought I would share my experience with you
Thomson airways have introduced the choice of seat (premier section - I suppose others as well) selection as of September 2009. We are scheduled to fly to Goa on the 1st March, returning 16th March. So I rang up ThomsonFly last week to check as to when we could select our seats. I was informed that I cannot select it till 16th Jan (2 months from return flight) so I left it at that. However I received an email yesterday that 'the seat plan' was open, I was rather confused and decided to ring again this morning and surprisingly I was able to select my seats. I also realised that I could have done it online this morning.
So those of you trying to select your seats be wary that you may not be given the correct information every time and upon re trying you may get someone who could give you the right information.
We booked our holiday online (premier seats) and when we got our confirmation email there was a link straight into the seating plan where we were able to book our seats online free of charge.
The online service is here and it's normally up to 3 months prior to your inbound flight you can book seats. More details on Thomsons website.
Darren
You can pre book seats 90 days prior to your flight but must be within 90 days of your inbound flight date to be able to access the service. Its all explained here in this link.
Thank you all for that valuable info
Is the Select your seat only availble to online bookings? as when I tried it would not let me enter????
qatarman,
No, you can do it online no matter which way you booked your hoiday. It will only let you in when the seats are available to book ie 90 days prior to your return flight.
Maybe a stupid question, but are the pampering packs that Thomson airlines provide on their longhaul flights, applicable to both premium and economy cabins?
Regards
Thanks rodgerdoger. Thomsons need to re-word their descriptions of the 2 classes. It is listed as an extra under premium upgrade!!
Secondly, anyone going long haul I would take the opportunity to go Premium, whilst it is a little bit more, the little benefits made it worth while. Very well looked after on both Outbound (ex 1st choice plane, large premium section) and Inbound (ex thomson, small premium section). Preferred the ex FCA plane, but the staff in the cabin were great. Even check in was a breeze (got off the coach and into the departure gates in under 15mins at a busy time!)
Can you pleas let me know which aircraft will be operating the TOM2646 MAN-GNB ski flight this winter? 30 days and counting!
Thanks

Premium get Pamper packs (perfect for iPod storage on the beach ) containing extra items on the (usually) outbound flight and an upgraded amenity pack on the inbound sector.
Economy get a smaller mesh zip up wallet amenity pack only on the outbound sector, which they need to keep for the return flight.
MAN-GNB-MAN (TOM2646/7) are operated by an Airbus A321-200. You'll find further aircraft information on our What aircraft? guide (link on my signature).

What ife will be offered(in premuim cabin)
what aircraft will it be etc...
Thanks again in advance
John
Your flight (TOM122) will be operated by a Boeing 767-300. All information on this aircraft is contained in our What Aircraft? thread (linked in my signature).
IFE listings are not yet available for January. They will hopefully be posted on here when they become available (Normally end of the month)

My first post... please could you tell me which type of planes will be used for flights TOM116 Manchester to Male on 2nd Feb 2010 plus the return flight TOM117 on 17th Feb.
I'm hoping they are both ex First Choice version 2 as we have already selected our extra legroom seats and the row selected only exists as extra legroom on this type!
Many thanks
is there enough room in the 33" seat pitch longhaul Thomson for Mexico
I normally find that there is plenty of room with the 33" seat pitch. I have never realy felt it worth purchasing extra legroom for these flights.
