You could well be right Moles, but to be fair the lad works one month on, one month off at sea, I can`t see him wanting all this hassle. He usually goes 3 times a year for 3 weeks a time, I can see him not bothering altogether now with Goa, how many more people like him are thinking the same ?

If somethings not broken, why fix it? Can anyone say what this change can do to prevent terrorism?
I imagine some terrorists are sophisticated enough to aquire the visa documentation the same as anyone else. But why would they want to re-enter anyway? I just don't get it.

me neither Moles , just doesn't make sense at all 
we are waiting for our visa this is our second attempt, first time it was returned due to my job. I had to have my manager send a letter (headed by our company logo) stating that I was not undertaking any work whilst there. I am puzzled about this as hubby and I applied for a tourist visa? Anyway we sent it back last week and still waiting. Dont go to India until March so not panicking just yet lol.
It is our first time to India so really excited and we cant wait to visit this beautiful place

Goodness! how bizarre and inconveniant - but I cant help really wondering what you put down your job was??

Tried to email today, unable to trace progress of applications, pressed submit and it forbid me. I will give it until Friday and thereafter, I will have to speak to someone direct.
This waiting is horrible, just want to look forward to our holiday, cant due to visa being returned and now waiting

The form you have just filled in on-line needs printing off, dating and signing. This needs sending along with 2 passport photos, your passport, the relevent fee (unless you paid on-line) and a return envelope pre-paid.
Make sure your signature matches what is in your passport, and ensure you have written down the web access No. so you can track what is happening with your application.

I applied online about 3 weeks ago and as i work in central london i chose to pick them up.
What happens now? Do i wait? What do i take with me to pick the up,Passports,Photo's????

you shouldn't have still have your passports, they should have been taken to one of the VFS offices (or sent to the Hayes office, together with the 2 photos.
Although you apply on-line, you still have to print your application off, sign/date it and get it to one of the VFS offices (see above) - together with photos and passports.
It doesn't usually take 3 weeks to process applications.
Have you tried to track your application using your web reference?
Can you explain to us EXACTLY what you did with your application.
I'm pretty sure that if VFS don't have a hard copy of your application, passports and photos, they are NOT processing your application because the visa is actually stuck into your passport.
Depending on when you're going, I'd get in touch with them pdq.
