Hiya

Could someone please let me know whether the following is a ex First Choice or Thomson aircraft.
Manchester to Aruba 25/06/10 TOM156 outbound. TOM157 inbound.

Your help is much appreciated.

Not sure whether to post this here or on the Thomas Cook site. As many of you know Thomson also sell TC flights and whereas Thomson have the facility to add hold luggage at £10 e/w for 20 kg their TC flights do not have this option. I therefore e-mailed Thomson and got the following reply:

"The facility to add hold luggage at £10 is shown for the Thomson Airways flights as flight-only bookings with Thomson do not include hold baggage and this can be added at a further cost. Our contract with Thomas Cook includes baggage for passengers that book through us on that flight, so the option is removed for convenience."

Hope this may be of use. I have added it to the TC forum as well but Mods may like to remove it from there.

Ryan1998,

It's too early to be certain, we'll know for sure in May. It should however be a former First Choice Boeing 767-300/ER.

Hi Darren

Thanks for your quick reply and welcome

A further question -

I have ordered extra leg room seats for this flight but having read several threads on the net regarding rows 12 and 13 on the 757, I am a bit confused. If when I come to select and I have a choice, do you have any suggestions on seat numbers please?

kind regards

Hi everyone! This is a great forum, have been trawlling through it all afternoon!

I am flying Thomson (First Choice) and was wondering if anyone could tell me what plane I'll be on. The details are:
LGW Thu - 03 Jun 10 - 09:15
to CUN -TOM 092
CUN - Thu, 17 Jun 10 - 15:50
to LGW TOM 093

Thank you xxx

creampoint,

Extra legroom seats are at rows 12 (L/R 2 door area) and row 32 (L/R 3 door area). There's also an extra legroom seat on row 13, seat F. There's only one seat that is extra legroom on row 13. Row 12 seats are in pairs, row 32 are in 3's. Seating is always personal preference so I can't say which is best as that depends on yourself. I've placed links on the What Aircraft? guide to seat plans so you can have a look and get a feel for the aircraft, and cabin photos. If you are travelling as a couple, you may prefer row 12. The door area can get a little chilly as there's less insulation and sometimes a little drafty so bear that in mind if you feel the cold, it might be worth having something with long sleeves for the flight. Some don't feel it, it's never bothered me personally and I travelled to/from Egypt on 752's in row 13/14 respectively last month and could just about feel the cool draft but then I like it!

Hi All

I am booked on TOM536 18th May LGW-SSH & TOM537 SSH-LGW 25th May:

a) Can anyone please tell me which type of aircraft is scheduled to operate this service?

b) I have booked "seats with extra space", what area of the aircraft are these likely to be located in and would they possibly be window seats?

Many thanks

LGW-SSH-LGW (TOM536/7) are operated by a Boeing 767-300/ER (winglets). Extra legroom seats are located by the exits. You'll find a seating plan on our What Aircraft? guide (link below). Seats by the windows will have window views, however those in the centre wont.

Thank you Darren

You are a mine of information!

Found your recent photos on A/Net - cabin looks light and airy and I assume no bulkhead in front of the exit seats

fyi have recently returned from Tunisia on a pretty new Thomson 738W G-FDZR. Had extra legroom seats rows (15 and 16) and worth every penny even though just a 3 hour flight. Acres of room compared to the other rows. Only downside is you are last to get the trolley service as they start at each end and head towards the middle!

cheers

Not as yet. The type hasn't been certified yet and isn't in production. We probably won't hear anything until the flight test programme has been completed and it's given it's air worthyness certificate. That's expected to be Q3 2010. The estimate is still April 2011 for in-service May 2011, but that remains to be seen.
