Flight Only / Airline and Airports

This all depends on how the flights were booked.

If you have a booking confirmation for the whole return trip with one reference code and it was done as one card payment then their contract is for a return trip. They cannot just say the outward leg is cancelled but you have to use the return (but might try anyway). If they say the outward leg is cancelled and offer an alternative that is acceptable that's fine but they are not liable for missed nights accomodation. If there is no suitable alternative ask for a full refund of both legs, but again they aren't liable for accomodation.

If the outward and returns were booked seperately with different booking references you get into a dodgy area. Technically that would be two contracts so it may need a bit of arguing.

If this was booked as a proper package the tour operator is responsible.

If our flight is cancelled on friday evening and I decide to travel next Friday instead, would Easyjet allow me to transfer the return flight booked for 4th May back a week as well so we can still have 11 days in England? Both flights are on the same booking.

Hi,

Just an update, as I posted last week we had our flights transferred 4 times in all, then decided to move it to May. Well, all credit to Easyjet, we had a full refund for the hotel & a refund for speedy boarding as it was full for our next flight (although it still appears on our booking!!) So I am a happy bunny, as long as the next flight IS booked, we didn't get a confirmation email but it is in My Easyjet booking so I hope everything is booked ;)

I did spend an awful lot of time trying to get through to them 4 days on the trot, but it seems to have come good. Hence, credit where credits due - Well done Easyjet.

We would have flown home today if we had been able to go - holiday over, now we are looking forward to it :tup

I hope it worked out ok for others.

Thanks very much. My husband booked a flight because he's walking from the west coast of Scotland to the east coast which is with the TGO Challenge around 200 miles then discovered his passport has run out!

Hi all,

If anyone still has any issues with Easyjet here is a number for you 08706 000 000 I have just rung to get a flight confirmed, added my API & it was all all done in minutes. I have booked with lowcostholidays so had to ring Easyjet to add some bits. Call was answered in 3 minutes & the lady was extremely helpful.

It really depends on several factors - are you flying in a really busy period, how many of you are there and how upset would you be if you had to sit separately, have you got any children with you, where are you flying from etc?

Speedy boarders are called first, then people with kids and those needing special assistance, then everyone else in one go.

We never book speedy boarding as we only do fairly short flights and wouldn't mind being separated! Also, we never go in peak periods and we fly from Gatwick, where it seems from reading this forum that the boarding rules are followed a bit more strictly than in some other airports. We nearly always get 3 seats for the 2 of us. But you are taking quite a long flight so you may feel differently.

Hope this helps a bit but if you can post a few more details other people may be able to be more specific. :wave

hi Botty,

We take SB on 4hr+ flights just because we like to get a chance to get the emergency exit seats with that bit of extra legroom and as an added extra benefit at Manchseter you get the a dedicated SB Plus checkin desk - which allow you to checkin faster. if thats not important to you probably not worth paying the extra. You can have up to 30 Speedy Boarders on each flight (on Ryanair its 90 !)

If you do go for SB boarding it is well managed (well it is at Manchester !) with SB signs and barriers at the gate to allow SB and others to queue in an orderly manner.

Our experience of the Easyjet return from Tenerife is less than favourable. They do not have the signs or barriers (neither do Ryanair) at the boarding gate and it is a nasty scrum and not for the faint hearted well it was this March.

In Oct/Nov we are going with Easyjet (with SB). Our return is with Monach (extra legroom of course!) and with prebooked seats - never will we fly back from Tenerife with Easyjet nor Ryanair.

Hope this helps

Regards, Chris

As I am due to fly to Malaga shortly, I like many others have been keeping an eye on cancellations, arrivals and departures at Bristol airport.
I noted a flight due to arrive back at Bristol 01:30 from Malaga this morning 11/5 was cancelled, more than likely due to the ash cloud.
Has anyone any more info as to why. Was the aircraft in the wrong place and could not get to Malaga.
I have noted mainly flights to Canaries and Portugal are disrupted at this time.

coolcarole,

They changed the flight time for scheduling reasons, the aircraft operates a flight on the morning before operating the Crete in the evening. The flight comes in from a couple of possibilities.
