How easy is it to get from Marmaris to Turunc, say to spend a day there then get back in the early evening. Can you get a dolmus and where would you get one from (and what colour).

We got the taxi boat from Marmaris to Turunc last year, didn't cost that much but I can't remember how much
, I think it took about half an hour.Hope this helps.

It's very easy either via taxi boat (my prefered way) or dolmus. Some don't like the rather hairy road over the hill and it's quite scenic and relaxing by boat.

The road is very steep and very twisty and goes over a huge mountain so the best way is by water taxi, far more relaxing !

Its wonderful when we arrive in daylight and come over the top of the mountain for our first glimpse of Turunc!

Not so good when you have a 3 year old being sick though

My advice would be to go on the dolmus for the great scenery, all the dolmus drivers seem to drive very slowly and carefully over the mountain road, and then go back on the boat.
Agree with Plumbud, if you're going on a day trip and don't have any bad travellers with you - thats the perfect way! Yes also agree the dolmus drivers are always very careful.
we actually tried to walk this about 15 years ago
we got to the top of the mountain and just started the decent when a german couple stopped and offered us a lift

You must have been very fit, I'm very impressed you actually got to the top! I bet it was lovely though. We have walked from Turunc to Kumlubuk over the mountain, in the other direction away from Marmaris. There is a donkey track where the rocks have red markers to guide you, its a really nice walk, a bit hairy in places, but well worth the effort!
