babbal_samrat. Let us know if you got your Visa on Monday. Oh thats if you got time and not rushing to the airport.
Hope it all goes well.
just sent ours off.£78.10 for 2
You nearly upset me there Noggin, I am just trying to brace myself to do ours. I don't know why I get so worked up about it as it always goes smoothly enough and I just copy everything from last years, but it does make everything seem nearer so it has its up side to it.
I am also waiting here with fingers and toes crossed - please post on here babbal-samrat if you got the visas
Well it's that time of the year again and although I have applied for our visas for our last 2 visits without any problem I just thought I would make sure nothing has changed regarding were I send our passports off to. Previously I have sent them to Hayes is it still the same this year.... (we are from Liverpool)....thanks Keith..
Has far as i'm aware its the same place for everyone who posts their visa's HAYES thats where we'll be sending ours next week..Its going to start to get busy in the next month.
to everyone who is about to send for theirs..HAPPY HOLS..

Have done ours and all ready to post off now. Even though this is the 12th time I have done this I am still a nervous wreck and worried I have missed something off even though it doesn't let you move on if you have done it wrong.
We posted ours off on Tuesday, have checked Royal Mail and they received them yesterday. Now got everything crossed - I am just like you BrenLiz I find it so stressful thinking I might have done something wrong. Same every flippin' year!
posted ours on monday. and hayes recieved them on tuesday at 07:45. nothing has changed on website tracking since. like you all say its nail biting time after last years fiasco. would be nice just to get them back as soon as and if not that they would give more info on website or text you or ring you or just something to say they are still looking after your very valuable passports.AAAArrrrrrgggggghhhhhhhhh

ok this may be a silly visa question but here goes .... I am posting the handwritten forms to VFS and just wondered if i can track the progress on the VFS Global website or not? Or is it just Royal Mail this can be done?
Have done the handwritten forms for the previous 2 seasons and took them to Victoria London to hand it all in. Season before that was easy peasy as it was the IHC then. Thanks for any help/advice from all you knowledgeable folk on here.

Just been through to the Edinburgh Visa Office to hand our forms in, no trouble this year with the online filling it in and whatnot. Twenty odd years ago we had to go to the Consulate in Glasgow and you got the passport back in a few hours. Then they moved the Consulate to Edinburgh, once again you handed it in between 8.30 am and noon, and collected it back the same day, between 4 & 5pm. This was even at the height of Goas popularity about four or five years ago. Then they smartened things up, apply on line and so on. The first year of the new system we had to return two days later to pick up the passports, last year it was come back in six days, today in spite of it being the quietest ever, I was told seven days at least, and if not next friday, then it will be the week after next !! Just told to check the progress on line. I prefer, for personal reasons, to have as much control over my passport as possible, hence the taking it through and collecting it, but after this mornings events I just dont know. I've a suspicion that the staff here would much prefer you to go down the postal route, hence the ever increasing time it's taking to return your passport. If this is the time scale in Scotland at present, goodness knows what it will be like in a few weeks when the rush starts.

still waiting. no sign online of any movement. stopped worrying for weekend as i suspect no movement over the weekend. so will have another glass of wine and wait till monday. just about down to the first knuckle now. all this to go to goa. i know its worth it but this is rediculas in this day and age.would love to have a debate with the indian authorities and explain to them how anxious this process makes us. they do seem to think that thier is no problem but come on. should take 5 days max and we should be informed all the steps of the way. have had no word that confirms the post office confirmation that they have received the forms and passports. have they even opened the envelope yet?????????please let us know. online tracking is there to ease our anxieties. so please use it.

Dont think the status changes until they have actually processed it - you know when they've received it and you know when its done/posted back. They arent worried about the stress we suffer in between. There has to be a better/easier way but of course "better/easier just isn't one of their options.

I agree Smudger, no wonder we are all ready for our Goa holidays - maybe its a ploy - get them all stressed before they come, they'll spend more money
