when i arrive on 3rd October i shall ask Anthony from arabian Knights shack what stage they are upto !!!!!!! and when i get back on my feet in mid October i shall do some more digging see what else turns up ?????.

sorry i have been off line it has been an exhausting time for me, i did not get back to India AGAIN !!!! and i now have my solicitor trying to sort things out, as the embassy will not even speak to me !!!!! i shall keep you updated on things.

At least the shacks have got the go ahead mmmmm !!!!!!.

This is horrendous for you Mike, hope your solicitor gets it sorted out for you, not to mention all the money it has cost you. I take it they haven't given you a reason. What will the football team do without you!

I'm so sorry to hear this Mike, I don't understand how they can refuse you when you have a valid visa and it has been after 60 days .
The long flights are bad enough without being turned around and sent back straight away, horrendously expensive too.
I know in one post earlier on this year you were getting very disillusioned and thinking of giving up on Goa - I certainly can understand those feelings. They seem to be making things harder and harder for eveyone.

Sorry to sound a killjoy Mike, but dont think a solicitor would be able to do anything we are talking about Indian law here and they are a law to themselves and as we know only too well they can refuse entry into India at there discretion.
The truth is that they do not want long term tourists anymore its a shame but thats the way it is and the world is a big place to find somewhere to stay without all the hassle that India currently provides.

Do I have this right?

Mike has a valid visa and it's more than 2 months since he last left India - but they STILL won't let him in.

How can that be?
What reason could they possibly have for refusing entry?

Sounds like Mr Richardson has attracted too much attention and is not wanted in Goa. I would not be surprised if this happens to more people this season who have appeared on the radar. Goa does not need our money, either from holidays or the money spent by 'long termers'. The locals may not like the indian tourists, but they love their money, and at the end of the day that is all they are interested in. Most foreign tourists go to Goa because its the cheapest winter sun destination, not because it has the most beautiful beaches, as it most certainly doesnt. I am amazed that anyone who first visits now would want to return, if it was that filthy when i arrived in the early 80's my first visit would have been my last. If you are a 'long termer', my advice is do not get involved in any tv programmes or articles for print, either on the net or otherwise, if you want to keep returning to Goa. They will sell you a visa, then turn you away. and forget the english lawyer, unless you are rich.

Sounds to me like you are still going, and my guess is you are a long stayer too.

I'm sure there is sound advice in your message to stay off the radar but it does seem rather extraordinary that you might be stopped from entering Goa for having had a rant on HT... but you never know. Using your proper name might be a disadvantage ????

I apologise for wandering off the 60 day rule but I feel an onslaught from the ex pats is brewing again and that will bring all the usual negatives.

Goa is many different things to many different people. It may not be like it was 10 or 15 years ago but there again did it have many of the things people are attracted to now. Of course not. It's called "progress". You don't need to travel to Goa to witness the same.Some will like it, other won't.

Think its a little premature to say that we need to keep of the radar and not to post political comments, hey what of free speech, what the internet idea is of free world speech was intended for, it would be getting like big brother, to be afraid to have input on a forum like this and to think that anything that you say could be interpreted by undesireables to be used against you and even be contrived to stop you from visiting India (Goa) what do the Moderators think on this topic can anyone use what we are saying on this site as a means to cause mischief or worse or is this forum safe?.

I think Hapi was referring to any media not just HT type forums when he suggested keeping a low profile. I'm sure he's right ! India is, and they are not alone, paranoid about terrorism. I'm sure they have the resources to monitor the internet, mobile phones etc just as we do. They might just pick up on certain comments and decide that they can do without those views in their country.
There has to be something that Mike has done that causes them to refuse him entry ...hasn't there ?

Mike must be absolutely gutted about all this.

I'd be very interested to hear (although I would understand if Mike didn't want to share the information) what - if any - explanation the immigration people gave for refusing him entry.
This is assuming that all his documentaion was in order.

From what I can gather from reading back through this thread, Mike had a valid 12 month visa issued in Sept 2010 and last exited India June 2010, so more than a 2 month gap from when he tried to re-enter in Oct 2010 - so why the refusal?

I'd be interested to hear as well but in absence of the total picture, we're prone to make up our own stories.

I wasn't going to coment on Hapi and won't or Dave wales for that matter everyone is entiled to there own views/comments/stories but hey ho !!!.

I can't see me upsetting anyone or having a rant that might upset people because all i have stated is the facts after the event, have i not ???

Anyway just for those who would like to decide what i have done wrong in their own mind CARRY ON knocking me, i will bounce back don't worry about that and for all of those who KNOW me here are the facts in short :

25th May left Goa for UK because daughter taken into hospital, three weeks later went to return 15th June told at Mumbia i could not enter (2 month rule) told to go back and get a special re-entry visa, did that then flew back again, once again stopped and sent back NO REASON GIVEN, went to Birmingham embassy explained to them and they said wait until visa has expired by one month and we will review it ??? i did this they issued me a new visa, i booked my ticket and refused entry in Dabolim and sent back again, now waiting to be told why this has happened ????.

You can make what you like of it all, i have abided by the rules they set out and that's all i can on it.

If Dave Wales and Hapi would like to meet me to discuss it further i will be very pleased to do so if there is anything they don't understand in what i have written.
