Hi,
Could you please let me know what time of plane and seat configuration this flight will be. Are there tvs on the back of the seats. My hubbys not keen on the flight so any idea of the films showing? Thanks in advance

Returned on 24th October from Orlando & here's a brief trip report on the flights we had:
LGW-SFB 9th October - received the dreaded phonecall from the travel agent to say sorry, no premium cabin on your outbound flight. Oh well, nevermind! Checked in at Gatwick & received 2G & H so front row bulkhead seats but still quite cramped. Crew throughout flight were exceptional & still received the premium food & drink service but no amenity pack - chicken risotto was quite tasty. Made it into Sanford slightly early which is always welcome & then had to wait ages for the luggage as not priority tagged.
SFB-LGW 23rd October on G-OOBL- Did receive the premium cabin this time but on boarding there was no amenity pack yet again & the cabin was dirty - rubbish from the previous flight left in the seatpockets & on the floor, seats were sticky etc. Cabin lights were never completely dimmed, so sleep was a no-no.
However, the worst thing was that all 6 toilets malfunctioned in stages, so for over 4 hours you could only use them sparingly as none flushed - the smell was revolting! The captain did make an announcement about possibly having to divert to St Johns & then later on Shannon, but decided to push for Gatwick in the end. We all felt very sorry for the poor member of crew that had the unenviable job of having to manually try to unblock them
Upon landing at Gatwick, had to wait ages for luggage yet again as still not priority tagged.
Overall, the service was good, but having flown economy with them too, I personally didn't think the premium cabin was much more different or more comfortable, & certainly wouldn't pay more than £150 return for the priviledge. Next time we've both decided to stick with the extra legroom seats instead.
Having just returned from CUN on Premium I can confirm (as I checked with staff) that priority tagging of luggage is a thing of the past (never really worked anyway) and amentiy kits have gone the same way!
We had a whole new experience on our return flight - being moved from our nice pre-booked (and paid for) window seats to the middle of the plane during taxi to the runway(!!!!) - our infant freaked at the lack of scenery and cried the plane down!!! Apparently G-OOAN has only 2 emergency drop down O2 masks over the AB/FG seats but 4 over the middle 3 seats. Just before taking off one of the crew must have twigged during the safety video demo and got us moved, then took off about 30sec later!!!! Had to sit in middle seats the whole way home - not impressed!! Next year, little one gets his own seat with his own guaranteed emergency decompression oxygen!
hi we wet to mexico 29th sept flight tom 196.we paid .for premium seating were given a letter at manchester no premium seats on the plane. we were given free drinks. flight home tom 197 13th oct delayed 25 hrs[ quite happily in our hotel]l also no premium cabin. on returning home. we had recived the money for the outward price of the premium seats plus a £50 voucher towards our next holiday with thomsons .we are now waiting for the money we paid for the premium seats we did not recive on our flight home .we would not have gone on a flight so long if we had known there would be no premium cabin as i suffer with a back problem .thomsons are not lookimg very good on there flights these days.[we did have a great holiday ] happy days
Your flights were changed from the usual long haul aircraft to a short haul as one of their aircraft was involved in an incident earlier this month that resulted in it being grounded and requiring repair. Due to this aircraft being out of service, and unlikely to return until the end of November according to the information I have, it's unfortunate that you didn't get the premium seats you had booked. However, there's nothing Thomson Airways can do about it as a short haul aircraft was required to cover at short notice.

MAN-SSH-MAN (TOM772) is operated by a Boeing 767-304/ER (short haul / winglets). Assuming you're returning the following Friday on TOM784, it's operated by a Boeing 757-200. You'll find further aircraft information including current IFE on our What Aircraft? guide (link below).

We are flying to Cancun on TOM092 on the 4th November, returning on TOM23 on 14 November. Could you tell me what aircraft we will be travelling on?
Kate
Welcome
Your flights will be operated by a Boeing 767-300/ER Aircraft
More information is available on our What Aircraft? Thread (link in my signature)

thanks for that Darren Glad to have a reason it did not spoil our holiday and Thomsons have returned our money and given us vouchers towards our next trip . Its really good to have a reason why . thanks happy days lolly
I know the aircraft crown was cracked and also know this is a potential airframe loss.
Love to have an update purely as an interest to see if the airframe can be repaired and if it can how they get it across the Atlantic for Boeing to do it.
Experts to the forum please.
Papa
I would not like to think that i was going on this plane repaired or not its the second hard landing this aircraft has had and its not what you can call new ????? I know that plenty on here will say that if Boeing repair it will be ok but the stress that airframe has had over its life must make it weak, come on Thomson spend some of the cash you get from me ditch the Dream-on-liner and invest in Airbus after all you are a European company not American.
I posted it's fate a few pages back. It's currently being repaired and will be back in service towards the end of November (latest information I've had). It's being repaired over here. No need to ferry it to Boeing (a team come over to have a look from Seattle) when the UK has some very professional and competant aircraft engineers. After all, the UK is at the forfront of much of the worlds aviation technology.
Darren
Any repairs carried out are done by highly professional aircraft engineers. There's no reason not to fly onboard that aircraft when repairs are complete as it'll be fully airworthy and certified as such. The incident prior to this one was in September 2000, just to show a professional repair is nothing to worry about. It won't be weaker than previous, if anything it'll be stronger. Even a brand new 767 in that type of incident would have the same damage as this aircraft. It's the area that is prone to damage during hard landings. If you didn't want to travel onboard an aircraft that hadn't had some kind of technical issue that required repair, you'd never fly again!

Thanks Darren,
You told me a while back that my flights to Tunisia (TOM 594 and TOM682) MAN - MIR - MAN would be operated by a 767. However, have just rang up today to confirm flights and have been told the aircraft is now looking at being a 737, they didn't specify whether its a 733 or 738 and I was wondering if you could shed any light on what planes we will be flying on. Worried we won't get our reserved seats together now
Cheers for all your help
Jess
I'm new here so I apologise in advance if this question has been asked before.
My partner and I are travelling to Cancun on 4th January from Birmingham on flight TOM568. I'm thinking of paying the extra £25 to pre-book our seats and would be grateful if anyone could tell me what sort of aircraft we will be on.
Thanks very much. Great site by the way, think I'll be spending a lot more time on here!
Flying out from BHX to sHarm. 18th Nov 2010 TOM424, was Wondering if any of u lovelies can tell me what size plane it is? We aren't pre booking seats so are wondering how we will sit, 2-4-2 or 3-3 or something else...anyone ?
I understand that it will be again repaired by the best in the buisness however the number on landings that airframe will have had while in Thomson Airways fleet it must be getting to the end of its life what is it now 15/20yrs old.I also think that is is more than just an aircraft going Tech this is a damaged airframe.Thomson Airways fleet needs a major overall and some of the 20+ year old aircraft need to be put out to grass, they charge plenty for the holidays and fly you on older scruffy aircraft.
We are flying on Tom 144 20th Nov and Tom 197 2nd Dec. Does anyone know which aircraft will be used please?
Also, we are hoping to use the 24 hour advance check-in. Will we get our boarding cards, or does Cancun somehow count as US as we go through their airspace?
Many thanks
Does anyone know whether pillows and blankets are issued in the economy cabin for longhaul flights? I travelled previously in Premium and they were provided but I didn't notice whether economy also got them.
Many thanks
