RE: TOM 652 DSA-SSH-DSA
I've discovered, trying to monitor the departure time of flight TOM 652 (Doncaster - Sharm El Sheik), that currently it is scheduled out of Gatwick. Will it "move" to Doncaster when we take it on 20th December? Or does it land at Doncaster to pick up? It's a little disconcerting that not only is it the same flight number but the same day as well!
Also, despite the booking information saying we can't select our seats until the 20th October, going on the Thomson book a seat site shows very few left and the majority as unavailable. What's going on here?
Regards,
Richard
is it to soon to what planes where flying on me and me freinds are on to diffrent flights to austria from manchester to innsbruck tom 2660 and manchester to salzburg tom2670 on the 14th dec.thanks
The codes are TOM 2788 outbound 5th Dec MAN - TFS and then it will be TOM 179 inbound 19th Dec ( LRM - MAN ).
Have the actually planes been allocated please ?
Thanks
There is no way of knowing the exact aricraft operating your flights this far in advance
Gower
Both the TOM2660 and 2670 are scheduled to be operated by a Boeing 757-200 (winglets) aircraft.
More information on this aircraft type can be found on our What aircraft? guide (link in my signature)

The flights you are trying to track at the moment are in the Summer season, your flights are in the winter season (Starts Nov 1st) As such the flight code TOM256 is used from Gatwick in the Summer season, and changes to be from Doncaster in the winter.
Hope this clears up the confusion

Greetings from sunny Cancun!
Could someone please advise which two planes are doing long haul from LGW this week please? Specifically, tom30 to Jamaica tomorrow and for me TOM92 on thu?
Many thanks.
It's too early to know. If you're wondering if your flight is effected by changes due to the problems with G-OOBK, then no, it isn't.
Darren
Thanks Darren, there's been some disgruntled people around the pool bar who have had a short haul sub over the weekend. They were told due to a blocked toilet!
Thanks for the info! Obviously the same flight number for different flights/airports summer/winter doesn't confuse the airline! Thank goodness.

I am given to understand ( though not confirmed ) that our Thomsonfly flight TOM179 is now to be operated by ARKEFLY which is a Dutch TUI company and the return flight from La Romana in the Dominican Republic on 19th Dec 2010 is to be on a 737-800 with overhead monitors - I did not realise one could fly the distance from La Romana to Manchester ?
Could any of that be possible please ?
Will the entertainment be in Dutch !!!
If there is any truth to it should the code not be TOM but TFL ?
Thanks
Where have you got that information from? It's not what is on the aircraft schedule, we've given you that information previously. ArkeFly have recently received a former Thomsonfly aircraft in the long haul configuration (G-OBYI, now registered PH-OYI). It's basically the same as what the UK configuration is although they also have some 763's in the standard configuration. Your LRM flight won't be operated by a 737-800.

not say that it would be smaller. The letter did though say everything else I have just written !! I had my doubts about the comment on size of plane being smaller but the other queries over the inflight seating pitch and entertainment are valid and also whether it will be in English !
The outbound is TOM2788 and that is currently said to be still Thomsonfly from what I can gather - it is the TOM179 that is said to be Arkefly but why is it still TOM ... or perhaps they have not given us the new code yet !
Someone on the very same flights said they had been told by letter that " due to operational reasons" the flights would be operated by "our sister company Arkefly" and the letter said that the seat pitch would be less and there would be no seat back IFE. The person then assumed a smaller plane but the letter did The outbound is TOM2788 and that is currently said to be still Thomsonfly from what I can gather - it is the TOM179 that is said to be Arkefly but why is it still TOM ... or perhaps they have not given us the new code yet !
I have been on holiday with Thomson when the aircraft was substituted for a Thos Cook plane. Flight number was still TOM. If they lease an aircraft from another company the flight number won't change.
On a separate note i am flying to Jamaica Montego Bay in April on a Thomson flight and have upgraded our seats to Premium. I have 2 questions.
1. My wife gets travel sick and a window seat helps what seats are best in Premium?
2. If you upgrade to Premium do you get access to a lounge at LGW or Montego Bay?
Any help would be great
Premium will not give you lounge access I'm afraid.
Dazbo alexrennie and sunaddict - thanks for your comments.

Does anyone know what type of plane I will have?
And will it have seat back tv's??
Thank You!!
Jaynee
I still have not been able to find out the plane type but the seat pitch is 30" and there is no seat back tv. The brochure clearly advertises over 2 full pages 33" seat pitch, 7" seat back tv etc etc etc etc for " long haul flying at its best " and "" what you get in the sky ". These "standard comforts" and entertainment are not now being provided. Thomson say "we may change airlines or aircraft types at any time; this does not count as a Major Change" - a solicitor would say " yes that is so but you do not say you will downgrade the service etc , the customer will expect the substitution of airline or aircraft types to be of an equal standard to those specifically used in two pages of marketing for the holiday".

We've upgraded to Premium and have been told we get to select our seat before we fly. I've tried a few times online and it says it's not available to be chosen yet. Any idea how far in advance they release the option to select a seat?
After a hideous flight back from the Dominican where the people in front of us reclined their seats for 10 hours, my husband is keen for us to get seats in the front row!
