Hi
Just had a phone call from Thomson Airways this afternoon our flight to Cancun scheduled to depart tommorrow 13th oct from NCL-MAN-CUN TOM348 and manchesters cancun flight scheduled to depart originally also tommorrow has been re-scheduled due to a 24hr delay until Thurs 14th Oct @ 8.00am for the NCL flight now, due to a category 1 hurricane near mexico and apparently the intended flight path for our flight.
Absolutely GUTTED but appreciate its for our safety!

Hello from Mexico!
It's now a cat 2 hurricane and gaining strength!!
Everything and anything that moves has been taken inside.
People out here due to leave have an extra 24h holls!
But it's just some rain and wind and nothing to worry about said the Thomson rep, funny how the Sensatori staff are running round like headless chickens!!!
I guess as it's just the one bird due out tomorrow, hopefully not much of a knock on effect for the rest of the week? Have any flights to Cuba been affected? That's where Florida local news predicts it'll hit next?

Well apparently our flight will now go tommorrow morning 14/10 to cancun TOM348 from NCL, does anyone know what aircraft will now be operating it- i already know off previous posts that it was originally planned to be an ex. first choice 763, but not sure with this 24hr delay if this will affect the a/c operating this route now and registration if you have it just out of curiosity,
As Darren mentioned previously our a/c was going to be operated by the a/c that operated the Gatwick to Mombasa TOM076 that departed on Monday evening which was G-DBLA, but obviously now am guessing it wont be G-DBLA now?
Id appreciate it if someone has any info on this.

Can't find it on Thomsons website but do they allow infants to have small piece of hand luggage, thinking similar size to the backpack from http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/2864402/c_1/1|category_root|Sports+and+leisure|14419152/c_2/3|15701421|Luggage|14419371/c_3/4|cat_14419371|Children%27s+luggage|14419380.htm or do hubby and I have to get their things in our hand luggage in which case we'll do what we did back in April and use gymsack type bags which'll fit in our hand luggage? Travelling to Turkey next May, girls will be almost 18 months old so we'll be needing to take a few toys to keep them occupied on the flight. With Thomsons only alloowing 5kg for hand luggage, I think I'm going to struggle to get what I take in Hand luggage and things for one of the girls down to 5kg weight. Might struggle with hubby's weight as well. That's unless Thomsons will allow a bit extra weight for girls things. The size of bag allowed isn't a problem.
cate_taylor,
Infants (<2 years) are entitled to 10kg of hold luggage and don't normlly get hand luggage allowance as they won't normally be carrying a bag as such, ie they won't have 5kg. I'm sure you'll not be refused a small backpack for them but bear in mind the allowance is 1 piece per person.

One for Darren I rhink.
Due to the current incident at Bristol Thomsons long haul fleet looks like it may be worked extra hard this winter.
Been reading a lot on the forum about them reconfiguring short haul 767s for the winter season.
I find this interesting from a logistical point of view.
I understand some of their short haul 767s have no IFE.
Pease tell me what exactly is involved in changing a short haul 30 inch pitch 767 into a long haul 33 inch pitch aircraft ready for the winter season.
I mean do the remove a few rows of seats and chuck them in the shed until summer.
Joking of course but the actual process fascinates me.
Regards.

Papa,
The reconfiguring of aircraft for different seasons is common and occurs every 6 months for the summer / winter scheduled. All the Boeing 767's have seat back IFE. The reconfiguration is a case of removing some seats to increase seat pitch and installing the premium cabin. This won't happen to every aircraft, just a select few that are being redeployed on long haul routes in winter. The others will remain the same. G-OBYI has recently left the fleet to operate for ArkeFly (TUI Airlines Nederland), G-OBYE is off to Garuda Indonesia for Hajj lease. G-OBYJ is leaving the fleet in April 2011.

Does anyone know whats happened to TOM093 seems delayed almost 24hrs
Thomson have now changed our holiday! We are no longer flying from Manchester on 19th December to Sharm El Sheikh, but from Doncaster on 20th December. Looking at their website it looks like they've taken out the 14 night holiday at the hotel we booked. Why from Manchester though?!
Can any kind soul tell me what plane will operate TOM 652 from Doncaster on Monday 20 December to Sharm El Sheik, please?
And what the Thomson seat plan will be? And if it will be the same plane and seating, back on 3rd January, on TOM 653?
Thank you,
Richard

dickyt,
I can't help with the flight changes. However, DSA-SSH-DSA (TOM652/3) are operated by a Boeing 737-800 (winglets). You'll find further aircraft information including seat plans and aircraft photos on our What Aircraft? guide (link below).

We think the crew for 93 might have been the crew that flew out on the 24h delayed Newcastle-Man flight. They are taking off around now (10am) which would have allowed them their statutory rest period. Only a guess though based on my chat with the rep here!
BTW, the rep was very keen to point out that it's only an eighteen hour delay not 24!!
