just wondering about new visa form as it has not asked me to put an exit port online, but when you print it off there is an empty box with exit port next to it ?? is this for the officials to fill in?

When I handed ours in (in person at Victoria), I mentioned the blank port of exit and they told me to write it in by hand.

Hi everyone, filled my application in on line, but couldnt see the bit where you can add another person. I was going to do the same as last year and put mine and my husband's application away together. I have saved it for now, can anyone tell me where I can go in and add another person. Just can't seem to find it.

Thanks

Jem

You have to complete the first application, where it gives you the option to save it just procced to the next stage it gives you the option to add another application

Hi Silentman thanks for that. I have saved it. Can I go in and cancel and start again do you know?

Thanks for your help.

No you don't need to cancel it use the reference number it gave you to get back into your application, go through to the last page were you saved it, and you can continue from there.

I am having a panic!

We received our tickets today from First Choice. In the booklet they came in there is some information on visas which reads:

You will need a minimum 6 month visa to get into India.

Our visas are for 3 months! Argh! Will First Choice let us travel on those, and will India let us in?

First Choice are useless. I called them and they said they only let people fly if they conform to the Indian Embassy rules and so it *should* be okay for us to fly on a 3 month visa but I should call the embassy to check.

I am concerned that we are going to get to check in and they won't let us fly.

If you use google chrome as your browser and have trouble trying to pay for your visa online, switch to IE.Once i did that i had no problems

Hi everyone, now filled applications in on line and paid for them. Away to send them off today. The only thing is I thought I could just go to the link the photoid link someone provided and download pictures and print them off. I got them downloaded clinked on the India button and the button for 2 x 2 visa but it is still printing of about double that size. Any ideas? I will be glad when they are posted off!!!

Hi jemajo

Have you seen the requirements for the new 2x2 photo's on the VFS website

http://in.vfsglobal.co.uk/touristvisa_photospecs.html

I think it would be very difficult to get a satisfactory one using the Photoid Link, I tried without success, could'nt find a photo with a light enough background, without sun-glasses a hat or a smile and like you the size, so i gave up :rofl

of to goa in the morning good look with your application

They've probably seen this on the VFS website:
Tourist Visa
A Tourist Visa is granted to those who would visit India for tourism. Tourist visas may be valid for 6 months to 1 year with single or multiple entries. Irrespective of the duration of validity of visa, on each visit maximum period of stay in India is limited to 6 months (180 days) only. Please note the validity of the visa is effective from the date of issue.

FWIW, I think First Choice have got it wrong.
I think they've either seen the statement above or mixed up the requirement to have 6 months validity on your passport when you apply for a visa with requiring a valid visa to enter India.
Quite a few people have been granted 3 month visas this year and also last year.

If I were you, I'd email VFS and tell them what your Tour Operator says about needing a 6 month visa.
Tell them you've only been granted a 3 month one.
Tell them the dates you are travelling in and out.
Tell them the dates your visas are valid to and from.
Ask them if you will be allowed entry.

When you get a reply, print it off and take it with you to the airport in case you get a numpty on check-in.

hand delivered our passports too Edinburgh office on December 22nd and received back today through courier. Considering the holidays i thought that was a good turnaround.Whats all the fuss folks ;) Visas all stamped but with multiple entries ? I only opted for single. Also our mugshots are printed on them this year. Has everyone else had this because i havent seen it posted ? All set to go now, roll on March 18th :sun2

I have.
On another site, a batch of visa applications were sent off - some returned WITH mugshots(!)...others not. Appears to be purely arbitrary - gradually phasing in a new system? :que
