its coming Wilson i can sense it!!!!!!
Go Gunny go, latest report to follow.......................................
Should really be in my bed, taxi picking us up 3.30am for our 7.00am flight to Dalaman. Should get my first Efes around 3pm ...
In Club Turquoise at the moment. Something like 42 degrees today. Met lots of old friends and staff. Will do a full report when I'm home.
hope your having a good time wilson, only a week to go for us
Many will know my reports don't really change from year to year and this year is no different ! Way back the good lady and I booked for CT. Months later our youngest and her fiance asked if we would mind if they went at the same time then the eldest decided she would join us ... So, five of into a people carrier into Glasgow Airport for the 7.00am flight to Dalaman. Early rise of course but worth it as you get the early evening and night in the resort. ThomasCook flight, minimum leg room but fine. Met three other people I know on the flight (small world) Got through Visa/Passport control reasonably quick and the cases didn't take long either. Transfers with transfersforyou and were fine and reasonably cheap. Travelling in daylight lets you see just how much work has been done on the road into Marmaris.
All checked in to CT and down to the Seagull Bar around 5pm, first Efes. Sent a large white wine up to the room to the good lady who was unpacking (least I could do). Met lots we knew both staff and friends. It was good to be back.
Eating : we decided to take advantage of the upgrade option for 4 days of our stay. This gives you anything from the breakfast menu and anything from the main menu at night (T Bone if you like) drinks not included but excellent value at around £11 per person. While on the eating theme we all ate twice in the Taj Mahal and met up with Huseyn there, usual very high standard. Mandarin chinese above was visited too and was very good. Also went to the Kervan (Turkish) and the food was to die for. For those who know it note it has moved. Used to be next to Club Julian and now in new premises near Club Aida. Ate down at the Marina one night and food excellent too. Only one bad night and that was in the Chuckle Brothers, food / service very poor and not near the standard we come to expect. On avergae we were paying around 28-30 ytl for our wine which is good as we were getting and exchange rate of 2.80.
Paid a visit to the Romance Hotel to see Mehmet (Big John) who worked in CT last couple of years. He's doing well and spent some good time catching up. Every year our holiday throws up som, ething different and this year was no exception. Just about to leave the Romance one night when I met my cousin from Belfast, haven't seen him for two years (family funeral) and haven't seen his wife for 25 years !! now has two grown up sons who obviously we hadn't met either, what a time we had playing catchup with the old family stories. One night I gave them the tour of the new square with the fountains (old Tansas), a meal at the Marina and a walk through Bar St, great night.
New entertainment team at CT with Dom Dom being the only one from last year. Cubie and FiFi now there and as always all working hard to put a smile on our faces. Decided to play killer pool this year and won 5 out of 8 times I entered ... shark I hear you say. The five of us also won the Quiz night and won a whole bottle of wine between us ... few sips each.
Did our usual boat trip but after reading so much about it decided on the Mega Diana. Booked through A&S Travel just along the road where I found out sadly Rose had passed away last August. Mega £20 a head but excellent. You don't go to the bar they bring the drinks to you, over and over again ... Welcomed on board with a toastie and tea or coffee and lunch was decent too. Usual stop in Turunc, all in all one of the best boats we have been on.
Met loads of regulars (seems to get more each year) and made other new friends. Great having the girls with us again even if it cost me a fortune ...
We had booked the late flight home (4.30am) and encountered another hour delay. Arrived back in not so sunny Glasgow desperate for some sleep but as luck would have it we had to stay up and get ready for a wedding !!!
Another brilliant time in Club Turquoise. Before anyone thinks I have rose coloured glasses on every time I go the place has its faults. It is badly in need of investment to upgrade the rooms. Irfan the manager has told me that funding is now in place. That said, the rooms are absolutley fine, spacious with basic cooking facilities, certainly all we need.
Can't wait to go back ...

glad you had a good time wilson - fab report as usual x sorry for freaking you out on FB lol!! x
chrisweaving wrote:Hi Wilson, i am planning on contacting club turquoise 2 - 3 weeks before our departure to ask for a pool view and a nice balcony on the 2nd or 3rd floor.
Should i just use the email contact form on their website? Allthough the website doesnt look to have been updated in a while (still advertises airtours).
Also, would you know which rooms meet my requests so i could ask by number??
Dont want to push my luck though ;)
Hi Wilson or anyone else who can help, I'm booking this week to go too and would like some info on the apartments. I've read that some don't have balconys and that some are facing the road, I really don't want this, I'd love a pool view with a balcony to sit and ponder with my coffee in the mornings lol. We are a family of 4 and I'm thinking about booking a 2 bedroom, could you please advice me on what's best to ask for?
I'm not use to forums, this is my first time on here so don't know if I'm even doing this correctly Any information would be much appreciated x
Firstly a very warm welcome to the forum and yes, you are doing this correctly
You say you are booking up for Club Turquoise but I'm not sure if it is for this year or next. No matter my answer is the same. I have never stayed in the two bedroomed apartments but my understanding is that there is only a couple of them and I don't think they have balconies as the space is used up to accommodate the two bedrooms. I know what you mean about sitting on the balcony in the mornings and it's a popular pastime by many. I was told this year that the apartments are due a degree of re-furbishment for next season and I hope this does take place. I always tell people they are basic apartments but have all you need for a holiday. Every apartment I have stayed in has always been of a good size and this helps.
You have made a good choice imho and I'm sure you will have a great time. There is the odd bad review for the apartments and that is to be expected but the overwhelming opinion is that people have a great time there. Any other questions just ask.
Wilson
Also is it better to go with Thomson or book everything yourself (I noticed your transfer bit in your post).
And lastly have you got the email address for CT.....I'll stop mithering now haha
Kindest regards Sue
For many years the wife and I went to CT with our girls. The one bedroom apartments have a spacious living room with a couch that folds down to an adequate sized bed. The air conditioning is also located in the livingroom so many people prefer to sleep there as it's cooler. The bedrooms are fine and if you leave the door open a wee bit it gets the aircon too. The apartments have a large pool which dominates the place and when lit up at night looks great. You can contact the apartments using the link below, it is their website but hasn't been updated for a while but it gives you a flavour of the place and you will see the e-mail address for them. Going with Thomsons is fine. Its a personal choice about transfers, either using Thomsons (not sure what they charge) or using a private minibus that you share with others and this can cost as little as £13 return.
Wilson
Theres at least 8 2 bed apartments
Stayed in one last September and it was very nice, you also have two bathrooms/showers which can be handy
Thanks so much for your help and advice.
I have uploaded boat loads of videos on youtube if anyones interested just search for 'club turquoise'
We all love turkey and go somewhere new each year, but someday we WILL be back at CT.
Booked icmeler for next july at club greenworld.

Does anyone know why my review of club turquoise from last saturday 6 days ago is still not showing in the reviews?????
Just read on another thread that the guy who approves the new reviews has gone on his holidays. Only know as I have one waiting to go up. Apparently the recent ones will all be added by next Mon/Tues.

Hi Chris,
Just wanted to drop you a line regarding your review, we are currently updating how the reviews look, so if you go to the Marmarius page, http://www.holidaytruths.co.uk/reviews/turkey/marmaris/page/3/, and look for the hotel ,the 1st review is the latest review that we have had that has been vetted for this hotel. Is this one your review? starts with, ''We arrived at about 01.15 and headed straight for the bar for a much needed drink.''
As this is the latest review for the hotel, the name of the person who wrote it seems to be missing at the mo (I will ask phil look into this :-) and get the name showing)
If this isnt your review, then can I ask was the review for a holiday travelling before 2012?
If it was before 2012, im working on 2011 at the moment, so it will be posted soon.
Any other questions, let me know, cheers, Lisa
there are currently no pending reviews for 2012, is your review for a date in 2012?

Hi Doe,
I’m jut having a look into your review, as you mentioned your waiting for one to be vetted, can I ask if the review was for a holiday travelling in 2012, or before?
I’m asking as all the 2012 pending reviews are done, so I wanted to make sure we got it ok from you. If it’s for a 2011 or before travelling date, then it will be done soon, as I’m working on 2011 now.
Thanks
Lisa
thanks chris

Hi Lisa , apologies although I have only recently got round to doing the review it was for last year.
Ive just been there again and it sort of inspired me to do a review for last year prior to doing this years.
Sorry for the confusion, realised why it hasn't been done with all the 2012 ones.
