I am writing this out of pure disgust with the way your booking service is setup online. Yesterday i found what looked like the perfect holiday and I got to the booking 'Confirmation' page and entered my CC details. I did one final check of the details and saw an error in my flights - Outgoing was from Gatwick and Return flights was for Stansted. I was expecting to press a Confirm button but just pressed the Back button on my web browser as i wanted to change the flights and also add holding luggage. I then found when i checked my email i had actually booked it... After two calls (the first one 15 minutes after I found the confirmation email) with two people who were not interested in listening to my complaint, I am now stuck with the following:- I will need a transfer from Stansted to Gatwick when i get back to England which will cost £70 for both of us, an outgoing cost of £58 for x2 holding bags of which £30 is a OYB admin fee, and i have to wait an additional lord knows how many minutes on the premium rate line to find out how much i will be charged for x2 hold bags with Ryanair for the return flight...
As i see this is a website booking process that goes back as far as 2009, w w holidaytruths.co.uk/forum/help-please-problem-complaint-the-beach-holidays-t131382.html - this shows that OYB are well aware ...
I have received a message through the OYB website that tells me:-
Dear Mr Graham
Regarding amending the airport on your booking. I have been in contact with easyJet too see if they do flights from London Stanstead too Arrecife, Prior too your phone conversation yesterday with one of my colleagues. Unfortunately they have informed me they do not do flights from Stanstead, this means we would not be able to amend the booking, as we can only make changes with the same provider.

As I have not had a holiday for 3 years, I am asking OYB for some help with the issue as I feel that the website process is configured in such a way that it’s an online theft system...

Unfortunately when you book online we do receive a confirmation of exactly what was requested. On this occasion what was requested is what was confirmed. Unfortunately as there are no flights from/to the airport you requested there isn't anything further we can do to assist. Again I am sorry for all the inconvenience. Thanks, Hayley
I'm not really sure what you want onthebeach to do? They are essentially a search engine. The flights they pull together are the cheapest. They do offer flights though for different airports. You need to look carefully before selecting. As for baggage, this is always an extra now. Ryanair are £70 pp for a bag return.if you are saying you did not actually book then this s an issue for your credit card company. You can tell them the money was taken without permission ie you did not hit confirm.
Are you sure you didn't hit confirm ? I think it is unlikely that they would have booked everything for you if you hadn't. As said its a search engine pulling together the cheapest of all options so if it was cheaper to fly out of one London airport and back from another Lonon airport that is what it is pulled up for you to consider. It's a sort of buyer beware system and you need to go through everything with a fine tooth comb to make sure you have actually been offered what is suitable for your needs.
I can confirm that I did not press a confirm button, its the sleavy way the payment was taken that I am annoyed with, i guess i'll try my CC first and if not i'll have to get a transfer from Stansted to Gatwick or get a bus to and from each airport.
