Can anyone help us with how we can complain regarding our recent cruise that was booked through thomsons.
We went into our local thomsons store and told the travel advisor that we wanted to book a family holiday for Feb half term. Our children are 3,6 and 8. We told them we wanted to go somewhere warm and i asked about the caribbean.... The advisor suggested that maybe a cruise would be ideal for us as they had a kids club and great activities onboard aswell as visiting the UAE. She mentioned that if we decided on the caribbean the childrens clubs started from 4 years so we listened about this cruise. We stated that at each stop at ports we needed something to do with our children. . This wasnt a problem stated the rep plently of things to do with them and all of the actitives onboard they will never be bored. So we decided to book as she has been on the ship and this exact same cruise. We prebooked out seats and two connecting cabins. Now herr are the complaints we have -
The outbound flights we didnt have the correct seats. (change of plane) meant we had to split with young children.
Arrive onboard and we didnt get our connecting cabins. Split up again 3 persons in one room 2 in another. We prebooked these.
Onboard there was a kids club granted. However apart from this the activities were all aimed at adults. Nothing for children at all. We was told there would be activities throughout the day and night.
We was advised this was a family orientated holiday. When in fact there was mostly couples or single adult travellers.
We feel as we have been misled and are very disappointed with our first family holiday abroad. We were promised a fun filled holiday to keep our children happy. We are not sure what to do. This holiday cost £4.6k for a week of our hard earned cash. I feel so cross that a travel advisor would even consider putting a family on this cruise. Any help would be much appreicated. We have taken home the cruise news from each day showing only adult entertainments and our boarding passes going out incase we need them to pursue a claim. I also have a sheet stating our allocated cabins were wrong as we had a confirmation of email of the correct cabins we booked instore.
The cruise was cities of gold on the celebration.
under EU rule 261/2004. I looked first at the Martin Lewis website forguidance http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/and found they recommended Resolver. You are still claiming againstThomson but it is a FREE tool that enables you to submit a claim. Completing
the template is easy and ensures you enter the correct information at each
stage and very important keeps a log so should you at some time finish up going
to court you don’t have to search for itThe easiest way is to make your complaint via Resolver.Follow the linkhttps://www.resolver.co.uk/companies/thomson-holidays-complaintsThomson (like other TOs) will be totally unhelpful inresolving any issue as many here on HT will tell you. This route will be less fraught and, as Iunderstand the way in which Thomson operate these days the issue will finish up
with CEDR for arbitration and again a very simple process. One thing I will tell you is not to expect the whole thingto be sorted in a couple of weeks. Thomson are definitely the Tortoise not the Hare – my complaint started in Mayand finished in December.
