I was thinking of a 2 centre trip to Maldives and Sri Lanka the last two weeks of August (7 days in each) but was put off initially by the weather reports for that time of year..... seems to be more rainfall then and more Rainy days per month etc... but is it a case of short periods of heavy rain leaving lots of nice sunny days etc.....?? or would it be too risky weatherwise at that time of year?
Any comments and thoughts on good places to stay - its my honeymoon so somewhere nice/slightly upmarket would be good.

Certainly in Sri Lanka it tends to be short very heavy downpours. We ended up just covering up our bags and so on and jumping in the pool until the rain had passed. Its quite pleasant being int he pool during a downpour!
