I've just come back from a cruise on the Armonia nd the dress code on board was very flexible. Even on the Formal nights there were people in jeans and polo shirts in the restaurants. If you wear a suit, you will be smart, if you wear a tuxedo you will be in a minority (about 20%). Only the Brits seemed to dress up.

At the risk of being totally :offtop I had a brilliant holiday! The weather was wonderful, in the high 70's to mid 80's.

We went to four evening shows - Cirque du Soleil's Mystere which was very good, but not as fantastic as it was hyped up to be, Mamma Mia!, We Will Rock You and Celine Dion's A New Day concert which was excellent. I wasn't that bothered about seeing her, but hubby wanted to go and we managed to get tickets for the Saturday night. The sound and the set were very good.

We also saw Big Elvis and he was BIG! Ate a lot, did a bit of shopping for the next cruise, gambled a little on the slots and video poker, didn't play the tables as I was too much of a scaredy cat in case I did something wrong. Visited all the major casinos and they are just fantastic, especially the Venetian which is beautiful. We even got up at 4am to visit the new Wynn Las Vegas which had just opened at midnight. It is very opulent, even the housekeeping staff are dressed in Versace!

All in all we had a great week which just flew by.

wow, sounds great, Luci. I've always wanted to fly to America but I don't know how I would cope with all that time on a plane. ( sorry, :offtop )

Sounds wonderful Luci and am pleased you enjoyed Celine too! My kind of singer!
I take it a week isn't too long in Las Vegas then!
Glad you had a great time, ready and rested for your next cruise!

I'm a smoker  and was dreading the long flight for that reason, even though I've been to the States several times before. I managed to cope with the long flight by sleeping through most of it and didn't even open the book I'd brought.

hi all,
Just read Gary's and Andy's reviews of their cruise on the Armonia .I think one way to combat the kids would be to go on second sitting, surely if they wait till then they will be soooooo hungry. :hyper :hyper Also the entertainment for them will be over by the time the dinner is over. Well i live in hope.

sounds like you had great fun luci!

Whats the latest on Rise then? How are they doing? Someone said on watchdog they said only 10% of people were getting cruises.

Just noticed that some people have had problems viewing my pics. Not sure why. I know my boyf said you need a machine with java for that web album but don't know why only some pics would come up?? Maybe prob with webserver at time? The album is not that clear to use. There are 3 arrows at top to navigate. You can click on the thumbnails to get bigger pictures then from there click on right arrow to move along pics in that folder. You then click the upwards arrow to get back to thumbnails, and again to get back up a menu etc. HTH

Hello All,

Just arrived back from a very sunny Saga holiday in Menorca - all inclusive. Unfortunately, they ran out of red wine the last two days! I flew from Luton (Monarch) and weighed my hand luggage carefully at home. No-one checked it at the airport. The amount of 10kg was also mentioned but that was if you did not have the full 20kg in the hold.

I am travelling BA to Milan for the cruise and the initial confirmation from R says that I fly from the South Terminal at H/row. As far as I know there is no South terminal only at Gatwick. If the final confirmation says the same, I shall check with BA. Don't want to end up at the wrong terminal. It just says the grade of cabin so I hope I am not sharing. Itr has not been mentioned at all. The details should arrive in a couple of weeks.

Hi Tone
Thanks for you post re Opera, perhaps you could tell us where you visited ashore and how easy you found it to do your own thing. How did you get on with dinner sittings were you early or late.?

Welcome home Luci, so happy you had such a good time It sounds like a great place to visit, or even to get married they say. Well, quirky anyway.
Funnily enough, earlier this evening l was trying to persuade my daughter to tie the knot out there. The money they would save on a big wedding here would certainly come in handy in Vegas.

Good to have you back,

hi,
Maureen
As far as i know BA Fly to Milan from Terminal 1 at Heathrow, at least they did when i flew to milan last year. Al italia are at terminal 2. They (R***) may be confused with the longhaul BA flights which usually go from term.4. Hope this helps.

Hi Luci

Glad you had such a fantastic time!!!! It's certainly not :offtop - you're one of ''the gang'' and we're as interested in your exploits as we are in each others'. Isn't that right, folks :?: :?: :?:

Welcome back, again :!: :!:

Maureen H - there definitely ISN'T a south terminal (or north terminal, for that matter) at Heathrow, just terminals 1, 2, 3 & 4. They're currently building t5, so it wouldn't surprise me if R*** sent you there. :rofl :rofl
