Hi joandkev

I printed off an A4 poster to stick on my suitcase with my HT name and avatar on it. I just put in on with tape so I could take it off when checking in. Anyone from HT will recognise you then!

Funny how when we shared information on how best to deal with them R*** got our thread shut down, but now they like what they're reading, they're boasting about us and how much (most) forum members have enjoyed their cruises so far.

Perhaps they'll start posting updates again ...

Another way of getting recognised by fellow HT travellers is to wear the HT T Shirt that you can buy from the HT site : http://www.holidaytruths.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=15167&sid=351f4f1c80a0af2da8ceee01a7cf4f44 on the :fly out to the cruise.

I've got mine and it is ready to be put on for travelling to the ship (not boat) :rofl :rofl :rofl
Then you can all meet in the bar once on board and have plenty of :glynis together

I shall have a badge on with this name. I would however be prepared to wear a little holiday-truths badge if available. or even stick a label on my case.it will be a (dont Laugh) dog disc.after all my old dog is called flo hehehehehe.

I too have bought the HT T shirt and will wear it just in case there are any HTers on board who haven't posted their cruises here! (also to advertise the site!) Scarlet had a brilliant idea about a label!

Hi everybody
A while since I posted but I do follow the forum every day. Its great that people are going on their cruises and coming back to tell us who are waiting to go how good they are. I am having trouble getting the cruise reviews up just nothing happens except a blue screen, is anybody else getting this? I am going on the Melody in July and really want to read the reviews being posted. Can anybody suggest what I am doing wrong? Thanks.

Hi

Sorry if I did not explain myself very well.

What I meant was, did any traveller so far on an Alitalia flight actually ring the company (up to 72 hours before) as requested and, if so, do we need to ring them or not.

So sorry to hear about Martyn, it must have been a shock to you after last seeing him fit and well and enjoying himself.

Sorry I cant help you out with labels as I like yourself am not very computer orientated and am relying on my daughter and my printer has also decided not to work just when I need it. Magsy has suggested I incorporate DE logo as not all DE cruisers would have found HT site.

What about cutting the heading of the front of the Daily Express to stick on your luggage? Or for that matter you could walk around with a rolled up paper under your arm! It should be easier than fighting with a beligerent printer and scanner!

to answer a few questions that have been posted -

the voltage is 110/220 so most camera/phone chargers etc should work on the Melody.

The dinner sittings for us were @ 21:00, there was a 2nd entertainment show each evening starting at 23:00 for which you had time to make it to after the 90 mins or so it took to get through dinner (although if you asked for my opinion of the entertainment, apart from the final night what I saw of it was mostly pants - the Puppet show is hysterical for the wrong reasons)

All drinks with the exception of juice at breakfast and coffee/tea at meal times are chargeable. Soft Drinks - coke for instance is 2.10€ a can, some lounges i.e. the junkadoo charge 0.10€ extra on all drinks
Water is also chargeable except at buffet meal times when there is a water machine that dispenses warm water, you can get ice for it though.
In the dining rooms you can save open bottles of wine for the following night if required.
The room service menu consists of mainly soups and sandwiches, not all items on it are available 24 hrs a day, these are all chargeable with the exception of continental breakfasts if memory serves correct.

There is no public internet access service on board, although the staff will email if required on your behalf.

If you have any problems - I would recommend first approaching the english social hostess - Ayesha on the Melody and enlisting her help as the rest of the crew dont seem to want to assist unless presurised - one of my cases was mislaid on departure and it contained medication that I required, they wanted to charge me for replacing it from the ships hospital, I refused on the grounds that I had not lost it in the 1st place, I was lucky my case materialised the next morning, one british passenger was left without her case at all.
anyway if anyone else wants questions answered = send a Pm and I will try and assist

regards

Locations of Internet cafe's - Melody cruise 9/5/05

In Malta there is a small department store on the right hand side of the main street as you walk down from the city gate, I forget the store name but its not far from the Kodak shop on the other side of the street.
We took a taxi from the boat to the town for €10 each way.

In Ibiza the shuttle bus takes you from the far side of the harbour where the boat gets tied up into the town near the marina, almost opposite this there are 2 internet cafes , the rates here were reasonable €1 for every 20 mins you were on for, so for an hour it cost me €3.

Did not manage to find any other places, but Im sure there are more than those we found

Paul (Buster) - thank you for a great review of Melody. I'm gradually buidling up a picture in my mind now with all these comments but don't think I'm going to be as lucky as you ...........

Is this an optional extra :?: :hmmm : :D

The sunbed race takes place at about 9.30 am

Salad of the Day:

Soups:
"Petite marmitte" (Not marmite but strips of vegetables!!!!)
Velloute of asparagus and tapioca

Pasta & Risotto:

Risotto with Spumante and smoked Scamorza cheese

Main Courses:
Lobster aromatized with parprika butter served with creole style rice
Roaster beef tenderloin with Procini mushroom sauce
Honey-ginger glazed duck
Rolled crepes filled with spinach and marjoram Ricotta cheese

Side orders:
Duchesse potatoes
Asparagus in butter
Baby carrots

Cheeses:
Selection of international cheeses

The menu changes every day and if you don't fancy anything on it there is always a choice of steak or chicken and chips.

The food was delicious and although I have a small appetite I think Martyn must have made a record when he had 11 courses one evening!!!! They also do sugar-free options. I guarantee you won't go hungry on this cruise!
