Stop it CunardQueen, my sides are so hurting from laughing so much. It's just like being back on board!!!

If only some other HTers could have been on board they would appreciate your comments sooooooooooooo much more.

Really happy that CindyR has joined us - she was on our cruise too and is such a lovely lady!

 I've just remembered that you too have photos :bow
I am completely at your mercy ... you won't be contacting the DE, will you? You are aboslutely right - no payment necessary, you may even have the upper hand  Although I am off to Maidstone this weekend to pick up some interesting video footage, hmmmmm.

We are all waiting for your review, you were so eloquent in your pre-cruise postings, how can we possibly top that???

Buster, hope you are feeling better.

Scarlet,
l know you and the rest wont believe it, but yes l did venture into one of those establishments in my younger youth, and was transfixed by what l saw. stood there in utter bewilderment thinking how is it used, where is it used and does it hurt.....and thought l got to have it, so put it on the desk . only to be told, That dear boy is a fire extinguisher and is NOT for sale !!!

Have those members that we speak of joined yet? not surprised they missed the 3am coach, but im sure the passengers on their way to breakfast must have wondered where they had been !!! and more so with a pack of eatable pants they had bought...... these are the tales that made dinner talk such fun ......!

:yikes So that's what dinner conversation was on your table, edible pants and fire extinguishers. Table 69 was soooo more reserved

For those of us travelling through Venice, I found this site useful, with great webcams, maps and info.

Their FAQ advises of a 50 Euro fine for being unsafe or bothersome

http://english.comune.venezia.it/turismo/faq.asp#10bis

Are there any particular rules to be respected in Venice?

In accordance with Art. 12, 23 and 28 of the Regulations of the Metropolitan Police of the City of Venice for the St.Mark's area, you must not:
- lie down in public places
- sit or linger on the street to eat picnic lunches
- litter
- swim in the canals or in the st. mark's bay
- ride bicycles or other vehicles in the city
- perform unsafe or bothersome activities
- undress in public places
- walk about the city shirtless or in bathing suits.
Offenders will be fined 50 Euros.

Well, I'll try my best ...

Hello Trisantona,

I wonder if Three Counties Radio can be persuaded to be more explicit regarding the cruise they undertook to make possible for the man who sent them the post card ?
Perhaps they can be equally solicitous in their efforts with other people who are waiting in the "unconfirmed " zone ?

Hi Joan,
The thing with Three Counties and the successful cruise seems to be par for the course. As soon as anyone goes to the media, be it Watchdog, Three Counties etc. , then that person seems to be allocated a cruise. So the lesson appears to be do the same , get you name on the radio or TV and you might be successful.

It appears that Rise and the DE don't like the adverse publicity. So they are sort of cherry picking those who make a fuss and giving them a cruise to try to silence this criticism.

Call me cynical , and I could be wrong , but that is my take on the whole matter !

Hello Trisantona,
I agree with you. If you appear on TV you get an offer. I didn't complain to any programme but I didn't get an offer until I made a nuisance of myself and threatened to go to the TV.

Mornin' Tris,

I could be wrong, but l think they say that a cynic is a disappointed Romantic.

Happy Saturday,
Joan.

Although my cruise on Melody is not until September I am getting a little excited after reading some of the messages.
What I would like in advance is a little information from those who have travelled on the 0600 flight from Heathrow on a Monday.
What is the best time to arrive at Heathrow to get a good seat? (I live in Berkshire so I am not too far away and will be travelling by car)
Did the booking office open at 0400hrs or earlier?
Was the flight on time?
Do you have to make contact with Alitalia 24hrs before the flight?
How smooth was the trasfer from Milan to Genoa, was there a representative at the airport to guide you to the coach?
Any other helpful information regarding the 0600 flight from Heathrow, trasfers and embarkation would be very much appreciated.

Hi,

Today I received a letter from Rise confirming that I am now on their 2006 list and they are in the process of "negotiating" with providers for cruises in 2006.

Looks like there is still hope of eventually getting something!

Hi Kilkeel,
I am pleased that you have received a written confirmation and am sure you are feeling easier in your mind too!

Glad to hear you are finally moving up the ladder Kilkeel, though I have a feeling you will be happier still when you are actually on the gangplank. It has certainly been a long haul for many but I really do feel things are moving in the right direction now. Those still waiting must keep pushing and not settle for anything less than a cruise (unless they really really want the wonderful books of vouchers).

To all who have already taken a cruise on MSC Melody,

Could you please advise me as to which dinner sitting to ask for?

Thank you.

l always go on the late siting, on Melody its 9pm with doors closing at 9.15pm the shows, for want of a better word start at 1110pm so you do have plenty of time, only trouble is that its not too long afterwards till the midnight buffet, besides it nice to watch a sailaway as opposed to being in the shower changing.
might l suggest you opt for table 71/73 excellent waiting staff, if Nello is there, you will be very well looked after! but generally l found all the staff to be very good, a kindly smile does go a long way l found out
After boarding you should just confirm your restaurent seating with the maitre d at the location give in the programme. oh and just remember its not the QE2, but generally you will be impressed, l know l was!!!
