Sorry if this is slightly :offtop but just wondered if anyone knew if there are any current £10 FLIGHT/CRUISE/HOLIDAY offers being promoted by RISE at the moment? I cant find any on the net. It was a hard fight getting the cruise, and for those of you still fighting, be persistant and dont give up. If I had to do it all again though I would be happy to RISE to the challenge!! Pat

Hi

Just "rushed" home through all the traffic jams to read my letter from Rise.

There was a bit of a mix up - they've sent me a Booking Confirmation letter - similar to my first one but with the change of flight details agreed in January! Together with my British Airways tickets with all the wrong details on... spoke with nice lady at Rise who apologised and asked me to return the tickets - my flight is ticketless!

Julie - sorry if I panicked you, we are definitely flying from Heathrow.

The MSC pack will not be issued until a fortnight before I depart.

I think I'll go and have a drink (and it's not yet 5pm)....

Phil where are you???????????????????? Have the coven not left you yet? I hope this visit has not given you a relapse, running round to get rid of the bacon smell, 6 slices indeed.
Or

Have you been out on the balcony Plastered du Paris, it would have been a pity to stay indoors today. Have they wheeled your bed close to the balcony so that you can feel some rays?

There is less talk from people who have yet to be confirmed these days ... whats the latest news??? It would seem that most persistant HT users are now booked up. Have a great holiday everyone.... :fly :) Pat

Hello All,

I see someone else is flying BA. My flight is at 7.35am on Monday (30th May). At about 7.36am on Sunday, I hope to check myself in using the computer. You can only do it within 24 hours. that way, I probably won't have to get to the airport so early.

I can't check into "The Renaissance" at H/row until 3pm on Sunday but I hope I can leave the car about 10am and take the underground into London. I fancy a day in London first!

Luci, I have a message from Van saying I have a new private message but there is nothing there!

MEH: And Avril mentions sending PMs to fellow 20th Juners? I never received one.

Meeey: Thanks. A lot of useful information in your review. I don't think much of it will bother me but useful to know.

Ah Elaine,
I thought there was a new cruise allocated! Got quite excited there for a minute!

We haven't seen any new cruises for about three weeks with the exception of Joan100 who got a last minute cancellation. Bah!

Sorry Magsy!
Don't know how I logged on under wrong name - it accepted my password too!

I didn't realise that no new cruises had been booked recently - I look at the site every day but I lose track. Rise did say a while back that they were in legal discussions and no further cruises would be booked until this had been sorted - I guess that this is still the case. What a shame.

September isn't that far away - scary really. Must start saving..... do you or anyone else know if you can book excursions in advance? Also does anyone know if Barcelona is somewhere you can walk around on your own without going on an excursion?

Many thanks
Elaine

Hi Elaine,
No Problem! September isn't that far away really, only 15 weeks!

I don't believe you can book excursions in advance but I am sure a call to MSC would resolve your query.

I have never been to Barcelona (I would like to go!) but every programme I have seen implies that is it a super place for walking about. I am sure someone else will know!

Hopefully we will see some action on new cruises soon!

Hi , all you cruisers. I thought that this web-site might be useful (care of today's Times) . If you click on to the individual cruise lines you can get full details of their ships , including deck plans etc.

Elaine,

There is much to see just walking around Barcelona but I am not sure that it is wise to walk alone in some areas. I did it, about 8/9 years ago with my husband whilst waiting for a ferry. However, I shall be there for a day, on a ship, in July. You can spend some time just walking through The Ramblas and reading The Sun newspaper! It was the day, Diana was killed and The Sun (printed in Spain) was doing a roaring trade - didn't buy one though!

We parked at the ferry port and it was no problem to walk from there. I imagine the ships dock in the same area. After July, I should be able to tell you. Unfortunately, when we got back, the car had been broken into.

Hi Elaine :)

I went to Barcelona last year. It's fine for walking alone - very safe I think. The port is very central.

But to get a wider view, if you haven't much time you could take a ride on one of the open-top tourist buses, without getting off, which do 2 circular routes visiting all the places of interest. You can actually hop on and off as you wish so if there is somewhere you particularly want to visit you can do that too. They run frequently and you can buy a day ticket at Tourist Information Office which is towards the far end of La Ramblas (a bit of a walk).
