Can anyone recommend any good all inclusive complexes in Menorca ? Ideally I'm looking for somewhere that does apartment style 2 bedroom accomodation, but would not rule out a good hotel also.
To be honest, all inclusive isnt very common in menorca, it is there, but very expensive. Self catering accomodation with the option of upgrading to half board is usually a good bet with a trip to the supermarket for beers, ice lollies and fizzy pop!
A few years ago we went to the Calan Bosch hotel in Calan Bosch. It was only what I would call ok. I think that the rooms were also quite small(no apartment style rooms). If you find somewhere, make sure it's at least 4*, my experience of all-inclusive on Spanish Islands is that they don't compare to those I've been to elsewhere. Does it have to be Menorca if you want to do all-inclusive?
No, I actually posted this on all three Balearic forums before it was moved here. We've been to Majorca, Ibiza and Menorca for the past 5 years and like the short flights (have young kids) and especially like Menorca. However, we are happy to try anywhere else within the med if someone can recommend good resorts/complexes.
Can't help with AI in Menorca i'm afraid but maybe you would consider Turkey? We have been to 4 or 5* AI there for the past two years and both times had a 2-bed apartment. We have just booked to go to the WOW Resort in Bodrum in May 2006. In 2004 we stayed at the Ephesus Princess in Kusadasi which was fantastic and we have just returned from the Hotel Hemera in Side, which again was excellent. Both were through Thomas Cook who seem to offer more AI in 2-bed apartments than the other operators. I realise the flights to Turkey are longer but we have found this to be outweighed by the quality of the holidays. Turkey (despite some misconceptions!) is very clean, safe and the locals are extremely friendly and especially like children.
Good luck anyway! Cazz

I can let you know about the hotel when we return if you wish, I always write a review.
39 sleeps to go!!!!!!!
Iberostar any where - always good
a great time was had by all.
my fiance spent the whole fornight snorkelling in the reef just off the beach, beautiful. so if you enjoy that then go, lots of life at the bottom of this shallow bay.
Iberostar Hacienda Dominicus in the south of the Dominican Republic
Paradisus Rio de Oro Cuba. Fantastic
Iberostar Paraiso Del Mar Mexico
Have Stayed at all the above and they were fantastic.
We don't mind where we go, we would like AI, and somewhere we can walk around some shops bars in the evening, although nothing to busy.
There will be me and my husband my two teenage girls and our 10 year old son.
any suggestions?
Would welcome your thoughts and views

Nana Beach, Hersonissos, Crete....fandabidozee
Great food, loads of choice, good choice of nice quality drinks. Nice private beach, huge pool, nice rooms, evening entertainment & disco, friendly staff, clean, tidy, all round great hotel!
Honey - are you asking for recommendations in Tunisia or just in general? Sorry but it's not too clear from your post....
sorry looking for somewhere other than Tunisia, don't like to do the same place twice.
http://www.iberostar.com. We went with Eclipse (First Choice) as they had the best deal and I would recommend it as the first choice airplanes are great - leather seats, good legroom, excellent films, games etc.
Another good AI hotel is the Club Hotel Riu Gran Canaria, which is Costa Meloneras just outside Maspalomas. Beautiful grounds and nearby beach. We used to go out of the hotel after each meal to walk along sea front all into the nearby small shopping centre.
Another place I would recommend - my personal favourite is Lykia World Turkey - am going back there for the third time next year. Suitable for teenagers etc. website is http://www.lykiaworld.com - have the best family connection rooms going - you can see the various floor plans for each room type on their website, would not recommend the garden rooms as they are basic. Not strictly AI as drives have to be paid for outside of meal times - however there is always a restaurant open! Lots of beautiful grounds to walk around after your meal. See my write up of Lykia World.
Just got back from 2 week holiday staying at Iberostar Tucan in Playacar Mexico and despite being there during Hurricane Emily would definitely recommend and stay there agin. We stayed there with our 12year old son and he had a wonderful time. The grounds are beautiful, food wonderful, staff execllent, rooms large and clean. Mini bar is included and is topped up daily despite it being stated that it is only topped up every two days. Wildlife wandering around the complex - peacocks, lizards, bush pigs, monkeys, chickens, flamingoes etc. Beautiful beach and pools. Talking to guests there all the Iberostar hotels are wonderful and come highly recommended - website is Another good AI hotel is the Club Hotel Riu Gran Canaria, which is Costa Meloneras just outside Maspalomas. Beautiful grounds and nearby beach. We used to go out of the hotel after each meal to walk along sea front all into the nearby small shopping centre.
