Having spent the last couple of hours trawling through various sites and finding peoples reviews,we think Bandos island might be the place for our first visit,once again if anyone has any further info it would be grate to hear from you,cheers Mark

Sorry I missed your post regarding where to stay in the Maldives, if it's good safe snorkling your after take a look at Lily Beach resort, very good standard in all departments.

We are going to Lily Beach in November. We had looked into loads of resorts and chose Lily because it seemed to have all that we wanted and also it had lots of very good reviews from other posters.

We went to Kuredu in 1997 and thought it was great apart from dining with strangers.They allocate you a table throughout your stay which is shared with another couple.

May I suggest SUN ISLAND (It is a 5 star + resort)

You may be looking at around £1300 each for 2 weeks AI - which in comparison to a 3 star resort is great value

We went to Lily Beach for our first anniversary, 2 kids on and we can't wait to go back. Maybe when the kids are old enough to be able to snorkel.... 
We went to Veligandu last January and it was the most perfect place on earth.It is only a sandbank and that is the hotel,paradise on earth does not do it justice.If you want a completely relaxing and luxurious holiday Veligandu is the place for you.Why not visit their website at http://www.veliganduisland.com.
