Hi Lynray, were you one of the guests that received the £200 when you were there?
If not, then 10%, to me, is a bit of an insult!

One good thing though..... at least FC seem to be starting to accept that they were in the wrong for sending us out there, otherwise, why would they be offering any form of compensation at all.
(This is me saying this before I've had my reply, fingers crossed my opinion won't change!)
It would be great if we could all keep each other informed as to how we are all getting on.

This hotel got a mention on GMTV early Thursday morning, a couple of people who had stayed there in its first weeks operation were interviewed and showed video footage they had taken, it looked like they had been let down very badly and First Choice said they would pay 'appropriate compensation on an individual basis' they also said any future guests who were unhappy could move but this was rendered (in my view) a bit meaningless by the rider 'subject to availability'.
GMTV has a 'Holidays from Hell' section regularly (also featured on their website) and the presenter said they would be taking an interest in how and whether the earliest guests at the Pegasus Palace were compensated.

i did not get the £200 per person compesation. im not happy with there offer and am not going to accept it, im just fed up writing letters to them. i have kept in contact with other people who were there at the same time as us, they have all been offered this, but none of them are accepting either.

This morning I received my letter from FC with a cheque for £185 or in other words 10% of my holiday cost.
I have decided to accept this offer as, in my opinion, it is a fair and just compensation offer for my personal complaints.
We stayed at the complex 16th-30th June so those of you who were there the same time as us know that the place wasn't exactly a building site during our stay. My complaints were mainly based around grievances that advertised features weren't completed, especially when we were assured before we left for the complex that they were. In no way did we let our disappointments ruin our holiday, generally, we still did have a good time.
If we had stayed there during the first couple of weeks or one of us fell ill to the extent that some of the other guests did then obviously we would not be accepting our offer, however, thank God, this didn't apply to us so that is why I think their offer to me is acceptable.
Paulashacks, it would be interesting to know what your grievances were as you were there roughly the same time as us and you didn't get offered anything. This might be a stupid question, but did you initially register your complaint with one of the reps whilst you were still on holiday?

I stayed at the pegasus on 23-06-05, we only stayed there 6 hours that was enough for me, the place was a building site, things unfinished, the sea view that my mom booked was facing the opposite way to the beach and they had the view of a jcb and a kango, my daughter fell down the main steps from the reception and my husbad nearly fell when the cleaners were moping floors and no signs were put up, we found tools unattended proping open the toilet door, work men were grouting the reception tiles at 6am in the morning and the food, i would rather starve than eat what they offered, the eggs were uncooked and the rest of the food cold. before departure i had assurances from first choice that everything was fine and that everyone on this site was lying. we asked to be moved to another hotel and was told "tough no other hotel is available" we refused to leave reception until something was done, the reps were a waste of time only 1 in the four we spoke to tried to help, she eventually came up with a self catering apt in marmaris, she charged me £295 for the hotel change and £110 for the taxi transfer, as we had already paid £2500 for an AI holiday i though this was disgusting. we paid and left. when we arrived at the apts the manager remembered us from last year and at his own discresion put us in the deluxe hotel AI. First choice were not happy about this and the rep made sure we knew that. she egnored us for the 2 weeks we were there and when my husband fell off a horse and needed some antiseptic she told us "theres a chemist over the road" to cut a long story short we complained when we got back and received a letter from first choice yesterday, including a holiday voucher for £563. i have wrote back and told them not to insult me or my family again and to come back with a better offer or i shall go to a solicitor. the price differance in the hotels alone are £1000 plus all the costs occured and the stress and no sleep for 27 hours and with 2 kids thats not easy. i will have to wait another 28 days for a reply now but will let you all know how i get on.

Like I said, my opinion was personal and from my own experience of the holiday. Yes, it did probably help that we were in one of the better situated rooms with a half decent view. We don't have very young children where dangers can be even more apparent, none of us had any accidents and none of us fell ill.
No, the holiday wasn't perfect, that was why I complained, but I do feel that concerning what my personal grievances were and compared to some other peoples problems, my offer of compensation was justified.
I totally understand and sympathise with other people concerning their grievances, I just thought that I would input my experience and let people know how I had 'gone on'.

i was at the PP from 11 july to 25 july and have sent complaint letter to FC. from the level of my complaints i,m sure first few weeks arrivals must have arrived amid building site conditions and hope you all get proper compensation. i think it is appalling how first choice have treated madstaffyblonde - i do not think you will want any compensation in the form of a holiday voucher however much they offer you - and i agree with you totally about the amount you are looking for. i have already been in touch with ROS and would urge all others to do same as FC are getting away with everything as i do not think enough people complain. this holiday has been missold from begining with no communication from first choice regards the beach to the all inclusive package. i have never complained about a holiday before.can i also say tropical guest were all offered 10per cent on first week, when conditions were not as bad as palace first week from what i have heard - exceptions to every hotel obviously. there was been major serious incidents at this holiday village and lots of people have experienced super times at the same time but levels of service etc are not consistent. good luck to all re complaints

We also received a chq for 10%. We have decided to accept it but certainly won't be travelling with FC again

Me, my family and friends are travilling to the pegasos tropical on 25th August 05 with five (5) Children. Ive have heard some bad reports can anyone who's been out there resently tell us if its finished and what you get for all-inclusive, because ive heard that you have to pay for alot of things that were stated as all-inclusive as First Choice keep telling us its all finished but i keep seeing bad reports on these holiday resorts.

Hi thehallclan.... we would go to Turkey again but that was our last AI most definitely. We are looking at Self catering next year... maybe a private villa or a small complex. And no FC!

We have the same attitude, we have always done AI but never again, this year at the Palace has put us off for LIFE, we are also looking at SC next year, but in all honesty we would proberly go back to Turkey in the future but not to that area.



ALso will not touch FC evr again, would rather stay in England (Butlins)
