Thanks for that Trisantona, Is it on every tuesday?
Watchdog is on every Tuesday for the next few weeks, except it sometimes misses a week when the BBC are running programmes such as the recent Transplant feature. I have looked in next week's Radio Times but it doesn't say how long the series will last.
Hi, just to let you know, i am still waiting a reply from my letters, i have not even received the standard letter that the Express have sent out to most of you
Is the number to confirm the Alitalia flights, 08705448259?
How many days before are you supposed to ring it?
Where is the information about this on the travel Docs?
Stuart The Meddy
just back from visiting my son in suffolk, (came back a year older than when I went). now it's down to the nitty gritty, getting organised for my cruise on the 10/10. just hope phil will be fit and raring to go, do hope the needles in hampsterdam have helped. are you ready chris and rumrat? I can't believe it's nearly here already. vivien
Have just received the latest standard letter from DE, asking for patience and usual offering of "alternatives" to cruise . I Was originaly allocated a Caribian cruise in 2005 ( 16th April for 7 nights). Just wondering if anyone has advice where to go from here?. Have sent emails to DE many times with little response.
The Alitalia number is correct. The information about reconfirming the flight 72hrs in advance is on the information that you should have received from Rise. Its on the itinerary page under the heading "reconfirmation of flights".
I don't think it is necessary as others who have been on their cruises did not do so and there wasn't a problem.
Hi All would be cruisers I havent posted for a while i have had no computer access I have just e mailed watchdog with an update on the situation of the cruise or lack of. I also have not recieved anything from DE but i still live in hopes lets hope we get some answers if we all get in touch with Watchdog they may get some answers for us
I to e-mailed watchdog yesterday, hopefully, if they get enough complaints they will do another piece on the subject for all us forgotten ones.
It's great to see so many people who haven't yet got cruises springing in to action - well done all. Keep up the pressure!
Only been away since Thursday but had a few pages to catch up. I am glad to see that people have not given up. Let's hope that Watchdog will take up the cause again.
Hi Pmad1 interesting that you have received the letter from the DE now, they must be moving again I would suggest you contact watchdog, trading standards your local radio station and anyone else you can think of. We really do deserve some information at the very least, after a very quiet time things do seem to be moving again with more people posting, if only someone at the DE would read all the posts We will get there in the end if we just keep up the pressure. Carol
I hope that the DE (or whoever is now dealing with the outstanding cruises) don't use the "hurricane" excuse again . I also hope that everybody's thoughts are with the many Americans who are genuinely affected by the present tragedy. So please , travel companies, don't jump onto the bandwagon and use this as a phoney excuse.
Thanks for the advice, have done as you suggested and contacted Watchdog with details and also asking if the are continuing monitoring progress. Will also send details to Trading Standards and see if any joy there. . As was suggested earlier as Rise have settled with DE you would think that the priority would be to see that the poor customers were fairly treated, I can see this eventualy turning into another Hoover fiasco!
Still, will keep up the emails and phone calls in hope. How do we stand legaly with regards to this?, could it be classed as breach of contract?. Anyone any ideas?. Meanwhile our thoughts to all those poor people suffering due to the storms in US. We should count our blessings.
Thanks
Paul.

Don't panic Stuart
have a look at http://www.msccruises.com/reservations/cruise.asp?id=-27596 this shows when and where for your cruise
mike
Everybody else (MSC included, and they should know) says the Melody leaves and returns to Genoa. It plys this route weekly from early May to late October.
I am also panicking slightly. I have no tickets yet for my cruise on the 10th. There is now less than a week for them to arrive as I fly to Venice next Thursday - before the post arrives! Rise will be getting a call if they are not here tomorrow morning.
If you take it a stage further, as if to book, you will see it states Genoa!

Regarding non-arrival of documents - the airlines and MSC have a list of passengers and I wouldn't worry too much in this day of ticketless travelling! So long as you arrive with passport and any correspondence (yes, ok - that may be a problem!), you should be ok!

Thanks for the usual standard of instant help, but my wife says you are all teenage girls pretending to be adults so you can take advantage of me,
or has she got that the wrong way round???
Stuart
