vicious creatures

On my first trip to Goa in 2000,we were walking down to 21 cocunuts shack from our hotel and ended up being chased by a very scarey cow with very sharp horns. It kept charging at us and came really close to hitting us until someone starting shouting at it and trying to shoo it away. Despite being absolutely petrified and running away as fast as I could, I couldn't stop laughing at my friend who threw his bag & sunglasses off as he ran away, I think Iwas a bit hysterical! This was our first day as well!

The next day I almost died laughing again as my friend went to the toilet in out hotel and let out a massive scream - as he had lifted the lid on the toilet a little frog had jumped out. Plenty run ins with dogs after that but no more mad cows.

Depsite all this, it would never put me off going and it always makes me laugh when I tell people about being chased by that cow! Not sure I'd find out so funny if a snake wrapped itself round me in the sea though as I am petrified of them.

Kindar.

We had a text from our son this morning, he was woken by a huge commotion, our neighbour had noticed a 5ft snake in our garden in Arpora!

Was it a poisonous snake?

In the last few years I have seen all of the four poisonous snakes within a 200m radius of my house, cobra, krait, russel viper and saw scaled viper. I regularly find scorpions, large black and little brown. I suppose on average I see around 4 snakes a year in the garden, usually just tree snakes but we have a cobra that I see on a regular basis, it comes for lunch to eat the frogs in the pond.

I have seen the cobra in a bag trick and a dead sea snake in the water 2 years ago and after the first Cobra sighting I ran a mile and have never been in the sea since the sea snake incident. Pleaaaassseeee shut up shut up shut up!!!. I nearly trod on an adder when I was a kid - I'm allowed to be scared! We have a nice squirmunk that lives in a tree in the hotel were we stay. Think it is a squirrel but its tail/back is stripped like a chipmunk hence the name. Never seen a rat or a cockroach - think we are lucky though!!!

Spoke to my son today, he was sat in the garden when he saw the snake, he said it was green with black markings and blended in with the grass. It climbed the wall to escape.
He went down to the beach later on and saw a black and white snake come out of the sea on to the beach then go back into the water! No more cooling off in the sea for me!

Had a vicious creature waiting for me at the gate to the Mango house last night. Someone had left a three week old puppy at our gate with some water and crisps. I guess they thought the foregniers would look after it... Damn I hate it when they're right!
