Hi, I would be interested in anyone's views on the 2 resorts and what their favourite is and why, I have just returned from Arpora/Baga and loved it but I have just found a good deal for next Xmas staying in Candolim, would be interested in anyone's views.
We are more interested in quiet than lots of nightlife , I look forward to your replies, thanks.

                Shirley, why choose?
I stay in Candolim but invariably travel out of Candolim on alternate days.
Not quite precisely as that, but frequently I'll stroll up the main road, have brunch at the Redonda in Calangute and then decide whether to walk up to Baga, to the CSM road, or hit the beach at the steps in Calangute. And then some (more often than not, most) I'll just decide to stay in Candolim.
I do however believe, and I'm sure the thread on the best restaurants in Goa will assure, that some of the best restaurants in Goa are found in Candolim.
It's a personal choice, I shouldn't persuade you... :-)

Hi have stayed in Baga...and loved it!
We now stay in Candolim and have done for the last 4 years.
We have no problem with Baga and invariably on our next trip will pop up to the beach on a couple of days.
We personally like Candolim because , although busy, it does appear slightly quieter, the restaurants are all spot on and there are a lot of really good ones in the area.
The shacks are great with excellent food and terrific atmosphere, (as they all are I might add along the baga/Calungute/Candolim stretch)

The beach last year employed security guards who did make sure that you had less hassle from beach sellers, ( I don't mean they were banned altogether but seemed controlled a bit more)!
We also meet up with a lot of familiar holidaymakers from previous years who have now become friends. There are also a few bars in the area where we can all meet up, chill and have a good chat in the evening.
Hey I am not saying it is better than Baga, but suits us and our holiday lifestyle.
Regards
Ann

Hi Annomn, It's Mark & Tracy who you met last year. Our hubbies played football against the goans (or tried to). Are you going to Goa again this February? Mark and I are going 16th Feb for 3 weeks and staying in Candolim. Hope to see you both in our usual spot on the beach at Candolim.
