I've asked my wedding co-oridnator lady about the Evandrea but have had another email saying that the hotel has a lovely outdoor area near the beach where they had a barbecue which sounds nice too. I'll let you know if i get any more info!
As for hair its not too much of a problem for me as I have short hair so a simple blow dry will do! I dont tend to wear much makeup anyway but have booked in for a makeover and lesson a month before the wedding (Benefit counter at Boots) they do quite natural looking makeup - as you say you need to think about how it will all stay put in the heat!
I think the hotel have a hairdresser and a beautician so will perhaps look into that.
Whats your dress like? I tried loads on but like you went back to the first one I tried - typical! Is your little girl being a flowergirl?
Keep in touch as am sure we can share some good tips and worries etc!

As we only needed about 10 I didnt want to spend loads on them and all pre-printed ones seemed to be in packs of 20! I just bought the cards, matching envelopes and printed the inserts on the pc. You can get all sorts to decorate and it really is easy. They looked lovely and at least i know no-on will have the same as me!
Its worth a look and saves a bit of money!

Sorry I meant to say I made my own invites and got the stuff from confetti which is a shop but they also have a really good website. We saw a number of weddings there last year and the majority of people had their reception in the outdoor area which overlooks the sea.One which was huge with a barbecue and a disco that went on late into the night.
They can accomodate large or small parties, and will do whatever food you want within reason of course. We did meet a wedding party that had there reception onboard a boat that went around the bay and that sounded fantastic.
There is a hairdressers at the hotel but also a few in Protaras along with a beautician.
You really will have the most fantastic time there.
Please can anyone advise me where to get an affidavit for my daughter's wedding in Cyprus. I understand everyone has to produce this if getting married abroad. I presume we have to apply in UK? If so, who do we apply to?
My daughter does not want a church wedding, her plan is to have wedding service in the gardens of hotel, possibly the Elyssium. We have already seen the setting, and hotel have told us this can be arranged. Anyone know who we might contact to perform the service, and are there any regulations we need to know about. Is there anyone who has had this type of wedding service.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
Lena
if you got to a solicitor for commisioners and oaths, they will do the affidavit for you they will charge and i wouldnt say any more than £20 for the two of them.
There are two ways to obtain an affidavit for a wedding in Cyprus. The first way is as Rachael says, and obtain them from a solicitor in UK. The second way is to obtain one from the district court in Cyprus, which is cheaper, and very easy. Please bear in mind that these two ways of obtaining an affidavit are only applicable if the bride and groom hold a British passport. If they hold any other passport, then different rules will apply.
There are various ceremonies that you can hold at the Elysium Hotel. Civil cermonies ( like a registry office wedding in UK) or a blessing ceremony. Send me a p.m. if you want further details of the options. Presty 1967 ( Phil and Jacquie) on this forum held a blessing ceremony at the Four Seasons Hotel in Limassol, so they could tell you all about this option.
Hope this helps,
Evelyn.
Can anyone tell me more about both the Atlandita restaurant and the Vardas restuarant? I'm checking out places for my wedding reception and cant seem to find a web address?

Can anyone help...
Initially I wanted to book a catholic ceremony in cyprus but I've heard that both have to have a baptismal certificate (I have but fiance doesnt - he is not a catholic) and I also heard that both have to attend church here for at least three weeks so that the priest can send details to the church in cyprus? Does anyone know if this is right? Or has anyone had a catholic ceremony in Cyrpus that can tell me more?
thanks

It's costing me £100 for two by haivng it done over here
It's alot cheaper to type it out yourself and take to a local solicitor. It cost us (last year ) £14.00.
so true if you already have a sample they can type on their letterhead paper it is cheaper. as i stated before no more than £20 for the two of you because thats jus their time!
We did see a couple more weddings same day where the reception was held indoors, personally I thought the outside area was fantastic.
we had our wedding reception at the Atlantida last Sept and can't say enough about it. The staff are lovely and the food brilliant, as for the location, set right on the beach!!! Who can ask for more?
Andreas the owner actually meets the wedding party and congratulates the couple which we thought was very nice then you're led onto a grassed area to have photos and "cut the cake" then onto the beach for more photos if you want them. Whilst all this is happening your guests are waiting under a shaded area where there's a bar (on the beach) which you'll need after all that posing in the sunshine! What can I say? It's gorgeous!
Feel free to take a look at our photos at
http://uk.msnusers.com/weddingpaphos there are some nice ones of the Atlantida. You could also try http://www.freetimetours.com who organised everything for us, we're on their photos of the Atlantida. If you can't get the link please keep trying it can be temperamental sometimes!
Have a lovely day and congratulations to you both.

hi all we got married at yermosia in june 05.firstly i can recommend eve she helped us with a few things on our wedding.we stayed in limassol we had a chicken bus to take our guests to town hall and then on to reception it was fab cos all the guests stayed together rather than getting seperate taxis,it was like a party atmosphere all the time with music playing the horn blowing.we also had a piper to pipe guests in as they arrived off the bus and after the ceremony when photos were being taken. It really added to the atmosphere of the day. The town hall is great and so special and quaint and immaculate.we had our reception at governers beach cos we didnt want a town venue we wanted to look out at sea all the time during our meal we had the most fantastic view and the video and photos look amazing,we were on a restuarant over a rugged quiet bay and had our reception on the high terrace..wonderful perfect for us. shirl
I cant believe our wedding has come around so quickly, we are flying out to cyprus May 14th. Starting to panic now!!!
Can anyone tell me what the bouquets are like, I opted for the lillies??
Did you have a hair trial before the wedding??
What do you have to do when you get there - Wedding Preperations??
Sorry about all the questions - Panic
Stacy xx
My advice to you is don't panic.
I got married in Protaras last year 15th june, we booked through First Choice, I opted for the lillies too, and they were ( hand tied ) and they were beautiful.
I booked my hair with angeline and had a trial before that actual day, and everything was perfect, I also had a trial with the make-up artist,
Where are you getting married? and have you booked it through a travel agent or have you done it all yourself?
Please don't hesitate to ask any questions as a few of us girls have asked the same Q as you,on our run up to our weddings.
congats,
gail......................
