Are the pools actually as cold as I have read too? Did you take a mixture of clothes as the weather still seems unpredictable?

If your child does not want to go into the kids club, is there still plenty of things for them to do. (I have a shy 7 year old and am not sure if he will join in or not.) I want to make sure of this before I book!

Just returned from Sun Tropical. In my opinion it is not one of the best places that we have stayed with First Choice- especially as it was a "Holiday Village".
Although the food was excellent in the main restaurant, I just felt the all inclusive package which we took was not worth it- especially for what was on offer at the pool bar.
It was a nice break and the weather was not toooooo bad!!

Oh sunseeker, we had a whale of a time and I would definetly go again

We went for a week, 3 adults, 3 kids. All in all it was a very good break. We were SC so mostly went out to eat in the evening, although went to the Pizza restaurant twice and it was good. Not as plush as the Holiday Village we stayed in at Benalmadena two years ago but I preferred the "low rise" nature of this complex. Would definitely go back. Weather pretty good, 4 good days, one day sun in and out, and one cloudy day. Temps ranged from 20 - 23 degrees.

Did find it nice and quiet- unlike the middle of high season when all are fighting for sunbeds- just not one of our better hols. Stayed at the Lagotel a couple of Summers ago, (again a First Choice) and found this much better.
Perhaps where it was out of season, not so much on offer?
We never go back to the same place , as would rather try somewhere different-after all the worlds a big big place

sun-seeker the world is your oyster as you say, but if my kids enjoy it then i do it for them :D I have seen the world before I had my kids so suppose I am lucky

We are booking for the Costa Del Sol one in April as you cannot book it until then.

Its funny how everybodys opinions vary on this complex

Yes if we were all the same life would be oh so boring!
Do not get me wrong we had a nice time but every holiday cannot be perfect!
I must say too, after reading alot of reviews on this complex, more were negative than positive, which I tend to see where they are coming from.

All the kids clubs tended to start around 10.00a.m every day :D

They were on through out the day and alot of the nights they had entertainment for the kiddies too

Does anyone know if we need to take our own towels for the pool ?

I've just read a new review on The Sun Tropical and the poster mentions that there was a DVD player in their room.
Does every room have that as standard ?

Hi Alex. Sun Tropical do not supply towels for the swimming pool areas- you will need to take your own.
Regarding the dvd players in rooms- these are only available in "Select Rooms" which are available on booking at an extra supplement of £5 per adult per night, but are only avaliable on Thursday departures.
Dvd players are not in the 1 bed appartments.
Hope that is of use :)

Thanks sunseeker :)

Unfortunatly we haven't booked a select room.
Do you know if you can hire a DVD from reception ?

Forgot to add - A friend who is coming with us has asked me to ask if the kettle is the type that you heat up on the stove.
If it is she is going to take her own travel kettle because that type take ages to boil.
Does anyone know ?

One more question (sorry  )
Can anyone let me know what the bed situation is in the bedroom and lounge please ?
Are they doubles or singles ?

Hi again Alex!

Sorry cannot answer that question on hiring a DVD player from reception. I should imagine it is highly unlikely- but who knows :o . Never heard anyone enquiring, so cannot really help.

As for the bed situation. Bit of a pain really we thought. As you see it in the brochure the lounge chair shown is actually the first bed to be made up. The second is a pull out from underneath of which you have to make up and put away each morning for space during the day. Our children are older but bit of a prob for little ones whom go bed earlier. I should imagine you would have to do a swap and let them have the bedroom?

Bit annoyed on the sheet situation. We were left one sheet for each bed in the lounge area to make up. Pillows too - only had one for each bed.
Just go straight to reception and request more as soon as you get there, especially pillows as I suffered the first night and wish I had asked earlier

No, kettles are electric and fine, so you will not need to take your own. Milk from the shop is as good as home too, as you know what foreign milk can be like with that twangy taste. Infact the supermarket was one of the best ever used on a site like that. Although we were on AI, still used it for a few things.

Fire away if any more info required.
