Thanks Sunseeker and Sueandchic :)

I imagine it will be me and the 2 little ones in the bedroom and hubby out in the lounge on his own :P
Neither of the kids will want to sleep out there with him (both Mummy's Boys).
We'll just have to push the beds up against the wall.

Good news about hiring a DVD. We were considering taking my mothers super slimline one in our hand luggage.
Its handy to have for the mornings, after you've bathed them you can get ready in peace while they're watching a DVD instead of trashing the room

Why not treat yourself to a portable dvd player. You can also use this in the car on long journeys for the children.
Would be useful to for each time going away

I requested banana block when i booked the holiday but that is only because i stayed in that block twice before. There are 6 or 8 blocks ( cant remember which) 4 have pools and the others either have a jacuzzi or kidies play park. The ones with the pools are naturally the noisiest and banana especially as the chicken bar is situated there and that is open early till late.
It is totally up to you, banana and kiwi both have pools but i cant remember what the names of the other blocks were, i think strawberry block has a kiddies play park and from what i saw was one of the quietest blocks. Also Avacado block has no pool so also quiet ( i have holiday video playing to try and see the blocks here )
The main large pool is past all the blocks and round the back of kiwi block, so there is a small pool to the front and the main pool to the back of kiwi block.
All the apartments are pretty much identical in all the blocks so its just a matter of whether you prefer to be right by a pool or somewhere a little more quiet.
Have a great time Angie

I am thinking of picking up a last minutebreak but can't make up my mind... with the clubs, are they absolutely rigid in the age ranges? I have 2 kids and they want to go together but they are 8 & 10. The problem is is that the 8 is more adveturous than the 10 and she would try abseiling, she snorkels well, horse rides and really wants to try archery. She will be gitted if she is in with 6s as she is used to being with kids much older - she is a year ahead at school so they act like twins quite a lot of the time. Also, I see that there is a stagecoach session - is that every week or just certain weeks - do you pay extra???? It looks like a fun week but I normally like the sea, hot pools and great food. I am happy to do whatever for my kids but am just worried that once we get there I have a very unhappy 8-year old who would like bugs bunny to put carrots where the sun don't shine!!

How long does it take to get to the Waterpark in Costa Teguise? How much would a taxi be?

Finally, when the holiday village is busy is it wall-to-wall people??

We went to Sun Tropical in July 1994 - we had a brilliant time.

As far as I can remember the clubs ran from ?-8 and 9-14. You may be able to speak to the reps that run them.

The hotel is well spaced out. We stayed in Kiwi block and found this to be one of the better areas - its own pool and close to the main pool.

The dome is a good place to go in the evening - hopefully the sound system has been sorted out by now!!!!

We went to Lanzarote last year also and stayed in the horrible hotel opposite - we saw that Sun Tropical had made extensive changes for the better. A massive ship had been built for the children / teenagers to play on - it looked really good from the outside.

Only 2 weeks until we go now - I can't wait :D

I want to email the hotel to request that we're on the upper floor in Kiwi block but I don't have the email address.

Can anyone help me out please ?

Had a look online - could not find number.

If you call your holiday company and say you need to supply telephone number to a relative say in case of emergency, then they should provide a number.

Kiwi block is the very best!!!!

:D

Well done lil monkey - your all have a brilliant time.

Ps ... if you venture in to town for food - go to the JASMINE chinese - really really nice. lol

By the way - just to say if you have children around the pool please be aware that it is really really slippery around that area (more than other hotels that we have been to). We found the waterproof (waterski type) shoes were brilliant.

Thanks very much for that info, much appreciated.

can you tell me if inflatables are allowed in the pools at the sun tropical please?
and does it get extremly over crowded in july/august when the kids are on holiday?

we are thinking about it for next year.
thanks

Hi, loads of inflatables, may i suggest buy them here as they are quite expensive in the onsite shop. We usualyy pass them on to new family arrivals the day we leave.
Not sure how busy it is in July/August as we always go Sept/Oct when it is still pretty full and still hot. I imagine it would be very hot in July and also alot more crowded in school hols.
We have never had a problem with sunbeds either in September.
Hope that helps.

Hi,

Sun Tropical is for UK and Ireland holiday makers only. A lot of Irish go at the beginning of July when the holidays start for them.

We went the 3rd week of July and it wasnt too bad, although it did seem to get busy towards the end of our holiday and we could see that more and more people were arriving.

Floats - very cheap in central Playa Blanca. You will find that most people leave floats when they leave and generally kids tend to share.

Regards

Wendy

thanks wendb69 and analb, as we cant choose when my hubby has his holidays, we have no choice but to go the last 2 weeks of july

i hate the fact we never get a sun bed unless we get up at some stupid hour, is this the same at the sun tropical?

my 2 kids are 10 and 13, so all inc seems a good deal.
re: floats, we went to holiday village in costa del sol last year and NO floats were allowed, which the kids really missed.

can you tell me why the kiwi block is the best?

thanks................

hi K&R it is personal taste , as i said in a previous post 4 of the blocks have their own pool and others have either kids play park or a jacuzzi. I prefer banana block which is opposite kiwi, both have their own pools, banana also has the chicken bar, but kiwi has the main large pool behind it. The blocks with their own pool do tend to get a bit noisy, so it all depends what you like. Oh yeah, banana and kiwi are the closest to the dome (entertainment) and the back gate, which is your quick route if walking into town.
Hope this helps Angie

Kiwi block has its own pool (as do a couple of the others). At the end of it to the left there is a smaller (baby) pool. It also leads directly to the larger pool, the childrens club area, pool bar. Its centrally located for the dome (entertainment). Its not too close to the entrance (so you dont get disturbed by everyone coming in. Kiwi is also close to the launderette, bars and restaurants.

We just thought we had hit the jackpot. When we arrived it was night time - it was all lit up and looked beautiful.

Sunbeds - dont worry to much about those - they will literally be outside your door, so you can nip out and get one straightaway (if on ground level). You are so close to the pool its great.

I never experienced anyone who did not get a bed.

:D :D :D Hope this helps
