Holiday Street where the hotel is located is opposite the Kamat hotel. As you go past St Anthony`s chapell (the one in the middle of the road) heading towards Candolim it is about 150 yds on the right. There are loads of restaurants nearby, the seagull is opposite and the goldeneye is at the bottom of the road. It is probably about 300 yds to the beach and a Luminar supermarket about 100 yds away on the main drag. Hope this helps. B

Thank you very much! You have really put my mind at ease. I have never been to Goa before and was a little concerned about the hotel. I booked the holiday through directholidays.co.uk, it was a pretty good last minute deal. I go in 11 days (!) and I am really excited.
Thank you for your help!!!!

memory coming back.... I think the previous replies mentioned lots of Russians there.
In fact they must have a website 'cos i remember seeing a menu etc and some pics

Cheers Del, I had read the review but failed to notice the website listed, doh!

Anyway as far as I understand this is on Holiday Street heading towards Candolim, past Midaas Touch etc, is that right? I hope not as that's not where I want to be!

Good location at top of Holiday Rd. in Calangute, just down from Daytripper Office. Used mainly by Russian charters and independant local tourists from Mumbai and the like. I dont think it is in any of the big u.k. tour companies brochures but they use it when they are playing "the Nismar is overbooked" card In view of the loads of Russians that use it and the reputation they seem to have in Goa, I'd think twice about using it Alan

Alan I'm slightly confused. Is Holiday St the road I think it, the Calangute to Candolim road? Can you describe any landmarks it's near?

Holiday St. is the first road on the right after the Kamat Holiday homes and Bonnies Inn if your coming towards Candolim from Calangute, The same Street as Goan Heritage, le Reviere, Maggies,
Allan.

I went into this resort in april to look at the rooms etc.the reception said that an english company had taken a lot of the rooms there. i think it was jewel in the crown. the rooms i saw were ok, about the same standard you would expect of a 2*. clean ,nice bathroom, big pool. good location in holiday street, hope this helps

It,s not in the Jewel in the Crown brochure for season 2006-2007 so I dont know what company they are talking about. There is usually several out of state 4x4 wagons parked outside and as they each usually contain about a dozen males down from Mumbai for a boozy short break it may be another reason to think hard about it!! I'm being really dim now but I still don't know where Holiday St is!

If you're going along the road from Calangute towards Candolim past Royal Foods, Midaas Touch etc, it's a street on the right heading down towards the beach? Approx how far along from the roundabout at the top of Calangute main st? I stayed next to Dominos pizza before so I only know as far along as that.

The hotel is in the Direct Holidays brochure, it says 300m from beach and 100m from resort centre which is no help at all!

Thanks for everyone's help so far!

Hi i can't tell you where it is from dominos pizza because it was my first time in goa but if you were standing at the daytrippers office, opposite there is a road, walk along there and it's just past a few shops, do you know Little Italy restaurant, well it's just along from there, or Emma's Kitchen is near to the hotel, we went in there a few weeks ago and it was quiet, had nice rooms and nice pool and was a great location, just a short walk to the beach and lots of nice shops and restaurants near by, if you need any more advice, just ask :D

Hi Crystalscan, thanks for trying to help but I don't know any of those places you mentioned!

Are there any other landmarks nearby? What I really want to know is how far it is from Baga, do you know how far along it is from the Calangute main st?

In case anyone else is interested, I have just found Little Italy on this map:

http://www.goadentist.com/calangute_map.htm

(Hope I'm allowed to post that!)

So I know where it is now, and it's nowhere near where I want to be, never mind eh!

Zosie someone else may be able to help you better, as i said it was my first time to Goa, but it is a 5 minute walk from the hotel Goan heritage. I went to a restaurant called brittos (spell) i think thats along the baga road, well it's a good 15 minutes in a taxi from there if that helps :?

Cheers for your help. I know pretty much where it is now, and it's the wrong end of Calangute so will look for somewhere else.
