Hi Guys,
Just wondering when is the best time of year to go to the Dom Rep? We want to go to Punta Cana and want lots of sun and no rain! Any advice?
I would say avoid the months of Aug, Sept and Oct as these are the months with the highest risk of hurricanes - especially in the east of the island.
does it differ a great deal depending on where you go? we are geeing married so i dont want to go at the wrong time xxx
Surely though you are chooing your honeymoon after setting a wedding date rather than the other way round.
Hi i mean we are getting married in the Dom Rep so dont want it to rain Thank you for your advice i will look at May prices xxx
thinking of going either to dom rep or cuba in jan 07 for hubbys 40th anyone any idea of the weather at this time of year
Much better in the Dom Rep than Cuba at this time of year. Day temps in Cuba are 24-27 degrees and much cooler in the evening - you will generally need a jumper. The Dom Rep is much warmer (31-34 degrees) and you'll never need a cardi.
i was just wondering what the weather is like in september in antigua? is it worth travelling here in this month?
thanks
I have booked for the Dominican for January 07. I have to agree with others in this thread it does really depend on the day about what the weather will be like
Nice to know that DR is warmer than Cuba though in this month.
Good luck
we want it nice and warm but will as little rain as possible.any advice would be great
many thanks

Although I went to Bayahibe (la romana) in October 2004 and it was boiling hot with not one drop of rain!
Although December - May it is highly unlikely that a hurricane will occur, so best to book for then!
when is it the best mont to visit jamaica
Dec/Jan - April are the driest....not to say you'd been rained in during the other months. (Have been to the Caribbean twice June and had great weather.
Hi there can anyone tell me what the weather is like in Cuba in May, I'm a bit worried about the rain.
We have been in May/June 4 times and had some rain for short spells, sometimes heavy but never enough to spoil a day let alone a holiday.
I am aware it is hurricane season but we have been told that it is one of the less wetter carribean islands for this time .
Any advice? ? be gentle please! lol
We've had to put our holiday to Mexico off from the beginning of May until the beginning of June.
Im wondering will there be a big change in the weather? I am aware that the hurricane season starts in June etc
Thanks
I have been to Mexico in June and only had 1 day off rain! it was so hot and the humidity is very high! You have to expect some rain but it only lasts a while and seens to come down all in one go! we returned to Mexico last July and had a couple of days rain , however nothing to drastic most people dont even bother to get out of the pool! enjoy !
we are off to riviera maya on 26/4/06 can anyone assureme that we may be mostly rain free as we are only going for 8 days so dont want lots of rain, and i would love to come home with a tan to start off my summer! be gentle with me please!!!
