Discussions regarding holidays in Cyprus
Hiya,

We got married in Paphos October last year at the Town Hall, and stayed at the Imperial Beach Hotel.

Our holiday and wedding was booked through Thomsons and didn't include the photographer so we decided to shop around because they charged such a lot for extras and we came across Paphos Wedding Belles, I couldn't recommend them highly enough. Anna is also a wedding coordinator, just wish we'd found them sooner then they could have organised our whole wedding and we would have saved a lot of money that way.

Here's our wedding pics.

This is Paphos Wedding Belles website which has information on their wedding packages and photography.

Happy Planning,

Hi anyone booked their wedding through libra wedding? I am getting married in 11 weeks and just wondered if anyone had any experience of them. Thanks

Hi Andy

£700 sounds really expensive for them just to organise your wedding :o you have quite alot to go on top of that. I'm getting married on 25th May this year in protaras and have booked Aphrodite wedding services. They only cost me £230, I booked them last July and so far they have been great. I booked them because they had great reviews on here. They were able to book the exact date and time that I wanted which the tour operators wont do. I dont know if they work in Paphos but I would look around as I also got a quote off medweds for £250.

Thanks, for posting that web site Kimmy!

We have booked thur Thomas Cook but want to arrange the extras when we get there, but using local suppliers.

Where did you get your flowers and cake from?

Hi Sarah,

We got our cake and flowers through Thomsons, if you were to get yours directly through local suppliers you'd get much better value for money no doubt. I'm sure Anna from Paphos Wedding Belles would be able to help you with your cake and flowers, she put me in contact with the hairdresser from our hotel rather than having the travel company arrange that aswell.

Have Thomas Cook given you a pricelist for all the extras? If not I should ask for one so you can compare their prices to what things actually cost, you'd be amazed!

If there's anything else I can help you with just give me a shout.

Hi mato,

I have sent you loads of pictures of my day and some of paralimni townhall I am assuming that is where you are getting married as you are in the penera area. There is lovely places out that way and I am sure your co-ordinator will be able to help. It really depends on how many you are having at your wedding and what type of reception you want.

Good luck I hope the pictures are what you are looking for.

We are getting married at the Golden Coast, Protaras in June this year. Has anybody recently been married there? We are have a civil wedding there, preferably outside.
Would appreciate any reports you have for us :D

Hi Deanonow,

We got married at the Golden Coast last June, although it was in the Chapel, rather than a civil ceremony. We had a wonderful time!

We also had our reception there, on the wooden terrace (with sea views), which was really lovely.

I know they have a private decking area the other side of the hotel from the chapel for civil ceremonies. It is outside but you are shaded by giant white umbrella type canopies (not as bad as it sounds!).

Who have you booked with to organise your wedding?

Any questions, please don't hesitate to ask - I know how daunting it can feel! :)

Hi Samanthatracey,

We have booked with Olympic. So far so good, but you can't help but feel nervous. How did you transport your wedding dress?? Could you take it on the plane as hand luggage?
Reply
Deanonow, yes, I know what you mean. We booked through First Choice, and to be honest, we couldn't fault them at all - despite their reluctance to confirm the wedding date and time - which we managed to get around by asking the on-site GC wedding co-ordinator.

I was anxious about my wedding dress too! I specifically chose one that was good for travelling (which was actually my favourite anyway!), and what I did in the end was get a small sports bag and rolled my dress (it was a two piece) into the sports bag, and used that as my hand luggage.

Because the bag was smaller and lighter than the recommended allowance for hand baggage, it wasn't even questioned at check in. The bag had pockets at either end so I could still carry a book and my passport etc.

It gave me great piece of mind to know that I had my dress with me at all times.

The thing was, that when we got to the other end, my husband's suit and my bridemaid's dress needed steaming (they were packed in a suitcase), however my dress was absolutely fine!

I was in cyprus last september in Ayia Napa and really enjoyed it! I looked in to getting married there next year and found it really cheap! my friend works in a travel agent and advised me to go for the grecian hotel in protaras, i looked it up on the internet and it looked beautiful! But i am now having second thoughts as i have heard that there can be up to 10 weddings a day at this and other hotels! dont want to sound selfish but does anyone know of any hotels that can guarntee a smaller amount of brides in one hotel! or can anyone advise me of what month they got married out there and what hotel? and how many other weddings they seen on one day!!

Please help me!111

I.gibson84, I think it just depends on the day you get married, and the hotel itself. We were lucky in that ours was the only wedding that day (it was a Thursday), although I did see three weddings conducted in one day at our hotel.

We got married in the chapel at Golden Coast Hotel, Protaras.
