Hi,
My partner and I are thinking of going to Corfu on holiday. However we have never been before. We think Sidari looks nice. Could anyone give me additional info and recommend any good hotels 3*/4*. I was also wondering if it is expensive to eat out etc in Corfu? Any help would be very much appreciated! Thanks
Price wise no dearer than most GReek Islands but since the Euro prices have increased very much, Corfu used to be one of the cheapest Island and we have travelled quite a few.
San Stephano seems to be very popular, Kassioppi, and I believe Benintise has also got a lot better.
Hope this info help. do enjoy wherever you go COrfu has still a lot to offer
pojo
Thanks very much for your reply:-)Sounds good
We went to Corfu for the first time last year and found it to be the same as Crete and other islands. It can be as cheap or expensive as you want to make it. Main meals vary from between 6/7 euros up to 12 euros for fish and grills and might be more. greek salads were about 4.50-5.00 euros, still cheaper than the UK!! We have yet to have an inexpensive fish meal which is unusual as there is a lot of fishing boats about. Drinks might be just a bit more expensive than before but we stick to the local brews. We stayed in Agios Gordios, lovely and quiet, terrific beach, quite isolated really. This year we are back because we loved it and staying in Arillas a bit further north and seems to be even quieter. Hope you find the holiday you are looking for
I would recommend St George South. lovely quiet resort, enough tavernas and bars , nice beach, very friendly people. Kassiopi also with its harbour. Myself Sidari would come bottom of my list
