Thanks Briar, I really wanted to know if I could use up the last of my TD at the airport.

One other quick question, I was thinking that if I never got the chance to change cash at the airport would tips be excepted in sterling. I have a coach transfer so don't need taxi fares.

have a few pound coins tucked away for tipping - dont get conned into thinking only paper money is acceptable :)
Dont know what time your flight home is but I always save a fiver to change on the last day if Im running short of dinar (tea time flights). Dont leave yourself too many dinar to use up in the airport as its only the cafe that accepts them and the prices are astranomical

We had a few euros with us, as we had left from other holidays, the shop takes them and so does the cafe, we got two sandwiches, 2 chocolate bars and 2 drinks which we had to sit outside on the floor to eat as there was no seats anywhere. That came to around 18euros, for our snack so quite expensive!!

Bought a coffee and cake at Monastir airport once and the price sounded high so I queried it. They were quoting me in kroners as they thought I was Scandinavian. Don't buy Mars bars there as they are astronomically expensive.

Would just like to add on the subject of shopping, that we thought the main airport shop (airside- near the cafe) at Monastir was one of the best we'd been to !

They had an extensive range of gifts that were reasonably priced (as well as booze etc.).

- in particular, a lovely selection of funky kids/teens watches (byBijoux) for around £10.

:D :D :D
