Hi all,
As you know we have been changed to Rhodes, I would rather not have let FC have my money, but, as I don't have enough to book with someone else while they think about refunding (could take months) I had to let FC move me.
If anyone does ever want to go to the KABC or anywhere else FC does, use Eclipsedirect.co.uk as they offer exactly the same holidays at a cheaper price (10-15%) it's a sister company.
Here is the link for anyone that wants to have a butchers.......
If you click on "gallery" and then activities you can see the water slides.........

Sorry to say that First Choice have cancelled everything until 1st July 2006. You need to talk to your travel agent or FC customer Services in respect of this.

I feel much better now that i have amended, not had much sleep since i saw KABC on BBC on thurs.
we now fly same day to fuerteventura, but it seems fireman sam nicked the last 2 bedroom aptmnt.......................so i have a 1 bed instead!
good luck to all of you trying to arrange something................
Going to Dominican Republic next year, best way we could get money out of them. Also booked a cheap last minute to Fuerteventura so still going away. Hope you all have a fantastic time wherever it may be.
Hi all,It seems that a lot of people booked the KABC because of how it looks, the amenities, etc. not to go to Kos itself or you would have tried to find somewhere else on the island. We have booked for the Island, the all inclusive came second, before I am attacked I will explain, we are on a budget like everybody else and usually stay self catering at the Aspro Spiti in Tingaki. Our thought was that with all inclusive we will have more money to spend on other things. Usually we a worried about spending because there has got to be enough money for food and drinks not nessecerily alcohol as we are not big drinkers especially on holiday. Usually hire a car and go out on the island. We have still managed to save the same amount of spending money as usual, but we did do without a lot to actually pay for the holiday. My point is really that we will still be out and spending but not all on food and drink. Although I will be having a few meals in Tingaki. .
Well what a week for some of you I hope most of you early Kos Aqua travelers have managed to change your holidays and are feeling a lot more positive!
I want to say a big Thank-you to all on this forum (sp55 sklr and Michelle etc etc) for bringing to everyone's attention the true state of the Kos Aqua beach Club without you lot what would have happened to all the 24thers and 31sters!!
(Actually don't think about it!)
Like to say Thank-you to Glynis HT Admin who I am sure has had a few headaches due to us lot!
As my holiday is not till September and FC saying that it will open in July I still have a bit of time to decide what to do.
(I know what FC say and what is the truth never seems to match up)
I am fed up of looking and researching holidays now but I have short listed a few.
FC have said I can change my booking free of charge (gee thanks)
My heart is still set on Kos but if anything worse happens I am thinking of........
Club Caleta Dorada in Fuerteventura
Kiotari Bay Miraluna in Rhodes which I know a few of you have changed to.
Anyway I have waffled on enough now but last thing I want to say is I hope you all still pop in here and say hello now and then we may need you help again yet!!

We did not buy anything becuase of reasons stated in last post and sat outside on a wall, we were shattered, all eight of us a few minutes later she came into her garden shook the fruit trees and gave us all as much as fruit as we could carry all of us, I was very touched by this as you don't find this in many spanish holiday resorts or others. The greek people are lovely people so friendly and welcoming.
Been to FC Shop today as unable to get through on the phone after trying all day yesterday. The girl there did manage to speak to someone in customer service as she had a different number (for travel agents only), they advised her that as we don't go until the 23rd Aug they were only prepared to let us change free of charge, they would not honor our free childrens places and discounts, all the others holidays are now £2,000+ more expensive which we would have to folk out for..they are adamant that this hotel will be ready & opened 1st July. Has anyone going after 1st July managed to change their hols & have been honored their original price? As we booked it last May we got a really good deal, dont mind paying a bit more bit I think it a joke that they now want you to pay so much more.
And what a dissapointment today has been.....my holiday to the aqua beach was cancelled today...14th June from Glasgow...I've spent the afternoon up the travel agents and finally actually come out of it with a better holiday...i am now going to Mexico for the 2 weeks to the sandos caracol beach resort and spa its also 24hr all inclusive which sounds pretty awesome to me and looks like a dream so fingers crossed first choice have done me a favour hehe although i was initially pee'd right off and fuming that for so long we have been fed rubbish information from first choice...fingers crossed i will get the better holiday...i still however have to wait for First choice monday to confirm the price and make sure that the information they gave the regional manager was correct with regards to compensation....first choice advised me that the hotel is now not due to be open till the 5th July and even then they will be pushing it....i wish you all the very best people in you all finding another holiday....i found with the late deals on the long haul's that might be the better option booking this time of year :-)
Sukaay - may I ask what made you chose KABC this time as apposed to self catering? Up until reading SP55 post I had no idea that hoteliers received such a pittence out of tour operators and that they are expected to cater for us on this low amount. Its made me understand more now into the way we were treated in Lanzagrotty last year. I am lucky that we are normally in a position where we holiday a couple of times a year so will probably go later this year too of which we will choose self catering like last year in Corfu, I agree that the greeks are extremely happy friendly people and that they go out of their way to make your stay in their country memorable, I too have a story where whilst in corfu and staying in a out of resort small 12 apartment complex the owner put on a BBQ for us all, my sister was staying way out of resort in the opposite direction, yet the owner got his car and went to pick her and her family up not only for the BBQ but most days so that we could spend the day together. Out of my the many foreign holidays and countries I have visited over the last 19 years I have only been to 3 all inclusive hotels, I always hire cars whilst on holiday and get out and about to visit as much of the country I am visiting which includes meals in other tavernas etc we also always arrange any excursions we may do through independant local operators rather than reps of the travel company we have travelled with.
hi all if kab opens on 1st july it will be empty as we have all cancelled and going somewhere else we choose to go to kab for kids with all slides, meant to be going on 5th july but phoned first choice day before holiday hit squad because we knew after the program phones to first choice would be busy, first call i was told i would have to pay any difference but phoned back 1hr later and give me everything going to egypt give us in flight meals, sit together on plane and was a very helpful guy so some people paying for change need money back as i say we were not going till the 5th july
guys i hope you dont mind me asking but would you confirm for me what compensation you were given per person for another holiday for them cancelling the holiday to the KAB?
Hi Genise. I was due to go on 31st May and we got £30 per adult, £12.50 for the first child and £7 for the second. Seems a pittance seeing as we would have lost 90% of our money if we had cancelled at this late date!!! :swear. Our new holiday also came out at £1200+ extra (party of 12) but we didn't have to pay that.
genise - we havent actually got compensation seperate to the change in holiday but today when my new holiday invoice for costa del sol arrived it shows an amendement for accommodation, discount of £150 each adult and £27.87 for 1 child so thats £477.87 plus we were upgraded to 14 nights instead of our original booking of 10 nights. Ive just had a thought - if it does open on 5th July and there are hardly any holidaymakers left - what sort of price will they start selling the remaining holidays for?
What a joke
Glad I have booked another holiday through another company, and do not have to give my money to FC.
It seems FC didn't have an exact policy in place. I think it would have been fairer for them to offer all us pre 1st July a specific discount off of another holiday. As it is it seems they have given the minimum they could get away with.
Michelle the reasons for booking KABC have been explained in my previous posts which i am sure you have read. What is your point? or are you just trying to go one better by following someone elses post with a similar post of your own. It would not be the first time now would it?
