As the Marmaris one supplies the lovely curries to the Icmeler one!
Yes it is open, never got round to trying it out - but it looks very nice. Much better than the old place
The whole block has been been rebuilt with with a few new shops etc - Think it is named 'Karacan Plaza'
LA

kadri and brenda email is amsterdamaris@hotmail.com,take it you have been there before its great, going fri cant wait
You must have been somewhere else other than Marmaris because I was there also just this last weekend and for me it was packed and there were many place opened late into the night.
We stayed at Hotel Selen just off the water front and I could hear the music from the outside bars well past midnight.
This past weekend was a turkish national holiday ( Nationl Youth and Sports holiday ) and there were loads of tourists, locals, and our swimming groups from different cities in Turkey.
There were fireworks, concerts, parades etc etc. All in all we had a good weekend
Hi everyone, im off to Turkey in 36 days and counting (1st of July) staying at the Konak apartments in Marmaris. I was wondering if there are any gay clubs in Marmaris? Thanks to any replys
We went last year & found ourselves getting into a rut in the evenings.
- Meet in hotel bar for a few drinks
- Go to Crossroads Restaurant for a meal
- Walk along main road or down to the bazzar or around the harbour.
This year we'd really like to do something different. The age of our group is form 30-66. We don't mind live music as long as it's not too loud, but are not major drinkers.
Has anyone got any suggestions?
Why not jump on a dolmus to Icmeler, lots of noce bars and places to eat.
or should i consider the armutalan area for family and value.
please list both areas if you can.
im 44 the wifes 37 we have a 5 and 15 year old daughters.
i am not looking for top class restaurants just food giving good value.
i am staying at the new club candan for 2 weeks leaving on the 8th of june.
my 19 year old and his buddy are also coming with us what areas and bars/clubs are best for them.
thanks gazza.
We're off to Marmaris on July 22nd to stay at the Zevkim (behind McDonalds & opposite Gima centre).
Last year we got in a bit of a rut in the evenings, meeting in the bar, going for something to eat & then a walk either along the main road or to the bazzar.
Has anyone got any suggestions? Our group is aged between 30 & 66, none of us are big drinkers but we like live music (60's stuff mainly).
I would suggest a trip to Icmeler, just catch an orange dolmus.
Hi Diane, We are also going to Marmaris for the third year running and we would like to spend some time in Icemeler, What places would you reccomend to eat or have a few drinks in, have two daughters 17,and 15 so somewhere to keep them happy would be appreciated.
Our favorite place to eat is Famous Kitchen. There are lots of good places on the canal to keep your teenagers entertained.Venice, majestic to name but a few.Something for all ages in Icmeler. We go June 5th.
Thanks for the reply, just making a note of those places, will make sure we have a few nights out in icemeler we don't go until August.
I would suggest a evening at Talk of the Town we had the best night out there wonderful show,
Natalies for us is an absolute must visit when we go to marmaris. . Although a little dearer than most places in marmaris its so very worth it. The steaks are more like small joints of beef i have never seen anything like them anywhere and all served with fresh veg potatoes etc etc.
Also the staff are the most friendly and accomodating you will find, while we were there a couple of years ago they decorated the restaraunt and provided the hugest birthday cake we have ever seen for my mums birthday all this was very cheep indeed, Natalies can be well recommended for special occasions.
Natalies is located on the beach front but just ask everbody knows where it is.
Another fantastic place to try is a place called the Ibiza located not far from the julian hotel i had the most fantastic turkish stew here it was that good we went back 3 times and it was as enjoyable each time.
If you are looking for an authentic british sunday roast then the only place to go is the Portofino restaurant its owned by the most lovely scottish lady and her just as lovely turkish husband. The sunday roast is fantstic and is proper beef yorkshire pud and all the trimmings with apple pie and custard for afters ( its also served all through the week ). Aside from this they also serve all other traditional british meals.
I hope this is usefull to anyone visiting marmaris for the first time have fun.
sounds like all the places we like!! we too like natalies and portofinos's - glad to hear they're still going strong
