hope it is complete by then we had exactly the same problem last year to halkidiki thomas cook put us 50 km away from where we was supposed to b in a predominantly german hotel where the highlite of the day was afternoon coffee thomson said today they have a list of alternatives for the turban and reeled of a load of half board hotels!!!or the marmaris palace but a hilly location for us is not suitable, our problem is we have booked 11 days and most of their hotels only do 7/14 nights!!!its a real catch 22 situation do we hang on?or go for something else?? as someone said "never book a new hotel"lesson learnt!!
Does anyone know of any reviews of the Turban Palace yet? I'm looking at it for end of September.

The beach is very relaxing with its own beach bar. It has two jetties and the water is clear and very good for snorkling.
Ive just found an excellent deal to this hotel.£239 for 1 week AI from Teeside airport next Thursday with Thomson. That includes all taxes transfers 20kgs allowance and credit card charges.I was also offered the Abacus complex with Goldtrail for £289 on the 15th.Has anyone on HT been this year?
I dont know if it will help you but Goldtrail are selling of holidays for as early as next week for under £180 2 week All Inclusive (from Teesside) to many resorts. Obviously goldtrail hotels generally arnt very posh, but if its value for money your after....
I cant manage 2 weeks as I am having to fit a holiday in with dental appts.I have now booked the Turban although it wouldnt be my 1st choice if the Devamli was available but flight times are a little better than Newcastle times and we are going with older friends who have never been to Turkey before and I thought the Turban would be OK for them as its midway between Marmaris and Icmeler along the coastal path.By the way the travel agent who gave me the quote today for the Abacus with Goldtrail said they booked lots of holidays with them.Different from the one 2 weeks ago who said you know what!
We go on the 7th until the 21st but staying in Armutalan/Marmaris.
Yep, I didnt fall for that persons ramblings, I think June is a pretty full month now.
Can one of the mods put the Club Turban in the review section please?.I have just come back from a fabulous week here (even though it was to hot for me)We spent an extra night in a hotel near the airport as the crew on our flight were out of their flying time due to having to divert on the outward journey due to a technical fault.I met BarbH and her husband in Icmeler and had a lovely couple of hours with them.We were with friends who had never been to Turkey before and they loved it.They are already talking about returning in October when the weather is cooler.
Hi there Jay Trip,,,so glad you had a great holiday at the Turban Palace,,myself and my husband are going there toward the end of August,,,8 weeks and 3 days now,,,lol,,not that I am counting.
I will do a review on the hotel section when it is added. It is a fabulous place and the only negative for some maybe the other guests are from Eastern Europe and hordes of Israli women come for a 3 day trip.We were with friends and there were only about another 20 British there. We gave our waiter a tip on day one and he reserved our table in the very small no smoking area of the vast dining room. The hotel is situated in Marmaris but is nearer to Icmeler!.Its a lovely walk along the coastal footpath to both.I got this hotel at an amazing price and dont think I would pay the brochure price.(I never do anyway!)The Thomson rooms are in the villas in the grounds and have 2 bedrooms,2 bathrooms(one being a shower room)2 flat screen tvs and 2 hairdryers.!I couldnt stand the intense heat but there was plenty of shade as the hotel is built amongst pine trees.
I booked with Thomson on teletext. It was called the Turban Palace when it opened last year but is now Club Turban,Marmaris (although its nearer to Icmeler). It is on the Thomson website and is only available through them in the UK.
Thanks jay trip for your comments. My brother has just returned from a holiday in Marmaris and the majority of the guests at his hotel were also mostly from Russia. Some of which were very rude,,pinching sunbeds and parasols while you were in the pool etc. Hope we dont get the same problems when we go to Turban Palace.
There are more than enough sunbeds to go around as the hotel has lots of pools a beach area and a decked area.I went with the intention of not letting the Russians,Bulgarians Ukrainians etc not get the better of me and if you cant beat them join them!If they jumped the queue I jumped back and told them so!.Thay nearly all understand English and understand hand actions! To be fair they were mostly fine and the children in the hotel all very well behaved.Sorry to say non were British.I will do an in depth report on the review section
1st time to turkey.
Has anyone stayed at this hotel? Whats it like? Any tips for Turkey 1st timers?
