Hi Kevin
Glad you had a good holiday, we are going again July/August for a couple of weeks. As well as most regular visitors we noticed a rise in prices in the area last year, what are they like this year in general?

Hi Kev

We're going next Monday 5th June to Ovacik, what was your weather like?

We've never been to Turkey before.

there is no big supermarkets in this area only small corner type shops but they do sell lots of things, the weather is around 27-30 at the moment, but ovacik is usually slightly cooler being in the mountains

There is a new supermarket opened this year in Hisaronu. Apparently it is very well stocked and reasonable prices. Also saves having to go into Fethiye for your main shopping.

Hi Mezza, and all others,
Thanks for answering some of the questions, I did'nt notice that the prices had risen at all since last year, also with the exchsange rate being so good at the moment things are actually cheaper, but in the Fez bar, Raki is 6.5 YTL which is about £2.20.. beer was about 3.5 from what I remember, Hic Hic. :D

We came back from Hisaronu on Tuesday, the weather was amazing, hotter than it has ever been in May, one afternoon it was 97 in the shade. There was a deep blue sky and no clouds every day and quite a warm wind.

Prices were up slightly from last year but the exchange rate was good. Some of the set meals in our favourite restaurants had risen a1 YTL or so. T shirts are still "3 for a tenner" in the market! The dolmus from Hisaronu cost 2.50YTL to Fethiye and 2.25 to Kaya Koy or Olu Deniz. Excursions and boat trips don't seem to have gone up, in fact some were cheaper than last year but everywhere was very quiet so they may have been trying to attract custom. Quite a few Turkish tradesmen asked me where the English had gone to this year.

AZDA supermarket is by the side of the post office in Hisaronu, we did go and have a look round but found the local shop round the corner cheaper for what we wanted.

Our driver told us the new tunnel is being officially opened on the 16th of June by the President and that the airport is well on the way to being finished.
