It also shows that the temp at 14:00 hrs cypriot in Lanarca was 30 degrees C...surely hot enough for anyone

jim is it true you are the michael fish of cyprus, we would think so with all the weather questions that get thrown at you. stick a thermometer in front of your web cam and let them look for themselves. oh by the way will it snow in protaras in a fortnight as don't know wether need winter sports cover on my insurance just being sarcastic as i don't panic about the weather take what comes)

Ok folks this is getting tedious now. Why dont we agree to differ.

I do know that I take notice of what I read on some sites, why would I question them ?

I have also read in some news articles of heatwaves that have caused deaths in older people, with temperatures reaching 40 degrees - and that is as recent as in the last 5/7 years.

Sorry but everyone cannot be wrong,seems that no 2 weather reports for Cyprus are the same??? people are reporting what they see and read.Having checked with a freind who works here and lives in Limassol and has done for 48yrs(born there) temps have reached into the 40s.Last post from me on the subject.(until I check for myself with a calibrated therm.)

p.s cloudy and dull in all parts of CY today (as forcasted) much cooler than of late, early mid week highs of 31c will not be repeated for the next seven days (local press CY news) not me..I mean what do I know..

morning jimbox, how are you, why do people take weather so seriously ? if you are like most you pick your weeks and you get what you get.(unless youre lucky enough to live there like you) so why do people argue about a couple of degrees ? love cyprus back in a fortnight not bothered if it's 2 or 30 degrees just love the place. think should just put a link up with all cyprus weather web sites and let people make there own minds up. you spend enough of your valuable time answering all our question no matter how stupid some are. i believe you jimbox, you've never let anyone down yet with the information you have supplied . you're one of the best

Jim is giving an as accurate view of the weather as possible. He uses a Weather site and gives personal opinion direct from Cyprus. Others are quoting from other sites or even from thermometers being kept directly in the sun. (Incidentally, any reading taken like this will more than likely result in being higher than the official one.)

However, I do know that temperature reached 40degrees in Nicosia on July 6 2002 by reading the following article http://www.hri.org/news/cyprus/cmnews/2002/02-07-07.cmnews.html#06 and from personally being in the city on the said day. The same day the temperature in Paphos reached 31 degrees
This is proof alone that the weather can vary greatly across the island.

This is the second reminder I have had to give regarding terms and conditons and beind respectful to each other.

If we cannot reach a happy compromise or agree to differ, then I will have no alternative but to lock the post permanently.

Like I said, the central plain is generaly warmer than the coast.

ok i might put my foot in my mouth now and then but cannot see where i've ever called anyone stupid , but i do think the stupid ones are the people who argue over a little thing like a maximum temp. thats what i mean if people want to call others names they should PM them not do it publically after all we are all friends on this site hopefully.

No arguments from this end ..you are warmer in the UK today than we are here, 78f max today in Pafos, but it feels just right , sitting on the deck watching England, not that comfortable to watch mind! lets hope it improves..

its been around the same jimbox highs of 29 in larnaca and a high of 28 here in uk

hope it stays that way in cy for me next week if not a little hotter would do me fine

btw jimbox no offense was meant by the other posts whats it looking like from your point of view for next week more of the same

also england were poor today in the second half and the substitutions that were supposed to be tactical were poor

agree we have to play better than this or we've had it. weather here lovely as long as your not working in it.but i'd still rather be in cyprus.
