hi yes its the same one as the skanes one, got back 10 days ago and i thought it was great for kids. There are 3 large pool plus one shallow kids pool. Kids disco every night, kids clubs, i can't see that any child would get bored because they will probably make friends pretty much straight away as there were a lot of children there. The entertainment team and all bar/restaurant staff make you feel welcome and are great with kids, so nothing to worry about.
The only thing i will say is that there is absolutely nothing to do in skanes itself it is basically just hotel after hotel. If you want to go anywhere of any interest you have to catch a taxi which to be fair are very cheap. Also the hotel companies do run quite a few excursions so if you do get bored you can always go on one of them.
anyway if you need to know anything else just ask.
Hi all, has anyone been to this hotel? Have read mixed reports on other web sites about it can anyone help!
Is the boat (Galleon) bar at the Sahara Beach (Skanes Tunisa) included on the All Inclusive Package, can you get free drinks at this boat in the sea bar
hi peter when we were there last year the boat was not included in the AI, not sure of the prices never had a drink on there.
Haddy3..what do you want to know?
Haddy3..what do you want to know?
hi peter we were there in May/June of this year and no the all inc service was not included on the boat thing but there is a bar at the top of the beach just to the left when you leave the hotel and they serve snacks, all drinks, & ice cream
Anymore information required just ask

Hi all just got back recenetly after 2 weeks at the end june. what can i say, in general the hotel was fantastic. it was spotlessly clean and well run. very big with 3.5 thousand guests when full.four fantastic pools and a superb beach. we prefered the beach as it had a nice gentle breeze and the sea was shallow and lovely to play in. we cought crabs large and small hermits as well as a plaice. this was the best area to be with kids as it was far too hot our two weeks reaching 49 degrees which they only get in august but has come early following some storms they had before we arrived on the 11th.
the cleaners are worth their weight in gold even hanging out our washing when we didnt even expect it to be.
the food was of a good standard and was quite varied although we tended to have the pancakes for breakfast, fresh pizza for lunch from one of the outside bars and a lovely meal at night. our personal waiter kew what we liked to drink and had it ready every night.
some of the waiters and bar staff were grumpy though and gave you a nasty scowl when you ask for a bit more lamb or fish or whatever, like all inclusive means you can eat however much we like and we pay there wages after all. this was the only grumble we had except the position of the hotel.
skanes is basically hotels in a row along the beach with no village centre or history to it. to get anywhere we had to get a taxi, noddy train or guided tour.
the camel trip from the hotel is much cheaper than the reps one,and it is the same one done by the same people.don't be fooled by the reps claim that its not insured,it is covered byyour holiday insurance and theyre only after the commission.
the camel trip is fantstic, pirate boat a waste of time and tunis is plain and not worth the 3.5 hour trip there although sidi bu said, carthage and the museum are very good.
dont bother with friguii zoo park as its expensive and the animals hide out of the sun, it is much better and cheaper to use the hotel's zoo which is only 75p for a family of 3 and there are some loveley animals to see.
we love sousse much more than monastir (less hassle in the medina) p.s. a little tip go early to sousse @ 9 and you dont get hassled as they are all relaxing with coffees as well as locals doing their shopping.
the sahara beach hotel would be better placed in sousse as at least theres something to do on a night as your not allowed out of the grounds by security at night but if you were there is nothing or nowhere to go to.
and finally im glad ill never hear that pee pee song ever again.
a fantastic holiday but i dont think we will return to tunisia and will definately not be using first choice again- their service is rubbish.

Me and the wife are going to the Sahara beach hotel in Monastier in sept and it all inclusive has anyone stayed there recently and was the all inclusive any good what happens after midnight do you have to pay for drinks?
hi ccnw1842
we went to sahara beach in june and enjoyed it. I'm not 100% sure about this but i think that the bar by the reception is a 24hr all inclusive bar but don't quote me on that it just maybe a 24hr bar.
The all inclusive service is fine we had no problems at all. Just give them your card and away you go. If you want 2 drinks you need 2 cards and so on.
we have a 5yr old so didnt get the chance to stay up after midnight, sorry probably not much help.

hi michelle_jackson
yeah you need the same plug as you would take to spain, 2 pin. I don't remember there being a hairdryer in my room cause i definately used my own big bulky thing and straightners, the things us girls have to do!!!!

hi all,
just come back on sunday from sahara beach. where to start!! the place needs a refurb badly. if you don`t watch the nightly show there is nothing else to do, i have never seen as many people playing cards on holiday!!! there is a 24 hr bar but after 12 you have to pay, we got 2 massive beers which i needed 2 hands to pick the glass up and 2 cokes which cost 11 dinar which is around 4 quid. our rooms were very dated, fag burns on the sink, grubby tiles, patio table leg dropped off when picked it up, sheets were not changed every day, our son dropped his top on the floor which then ended up under the bed, when i fished it out out was filthy. the water inflatables are good value only 5 dinar each person, paragliding only 20 dinar for 2 people sharing a parachute. there are plenty of bars but there is nothing happening in any of them unless you go in the skanes bar at reception where you can watch sky news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the entertainment team are out of this world through the day, this is the only thing that made our holiday, night times are bad. the michael jackson show on thursdays is brilliant. wouldn`t go back here if someone paid us to go

Hi michelle
we havent been in October but we did go earlier this year. We didn't go with first choice therefore my child didn't use the first choice kids club. He did however go in the hotel run kids club but i think the age limit is 4. Saying that we did pay for him to go in the First Choice kids club once and he did enjoy it more than the hotel one, mainly because they spoke english.
The exact thing happened to me when i booked a holiday with First Choice last year to benidorm, when i booked it i got the kids club logo up on the screen and a few weeks before i was due to go i had a similar letter. It is very annoying. The hotel does have a little play area on sand, it also has a nice shallow kids pool and there is a kids disco everynight although it is a bit late.

thank you for that anet
we have decided to still go on the holiday rather than change as we have been looking forward to it for such a long time. i am sooo annoyed tho . we have been advised by ros fernighoughs pa tho that if we find any other problems at the hotel then to make a complaint. and as the hotel club is ony for 4 yrs and over i think thats where il start
