We are going to this hotel in 3 weeks!! the last post has me worried! has anybody else been recently? is the food that bad? somebody please put my mind at rest.
Hi Rennie, im staying there on 25/07/06 and i will eat out if i have to but first choice should address this problem on holidays un covered the food also gets slated.
sorry to have worried you, just take extra money incase you need to eat out.we used to go out and have some lunch instead then have a look what the evening looked like the soups are lovely.some nights it was ok. we are not fussy eaters at all but i dont like it when food is not cooked enough. hotel is really modern and very clean rooms cleaned every day but i dont think first choice should think that this can compansate for the food been awfull.there was a lot of teens arriving as we left,so maybe the hotel think they can get away with it ,because they are teens allocated on arrival.saying that they the teens were not rowdy at all. very well behaved.it is still a wonderfull hotel 4 star easy but food 2 star or less.we just spent more money on eating out a lot that we hadnt budgeted for.
Can you recommend any nice places to eat at night,i was looking at the restaurants in the old town,i am not that fussy but would like something slightly better than chips, chips and more chips.I will have my son with me so any ideas on good family bars would be helpful. Were going to kafelonia as well on 22/08/06 2 weeks self catering so at least if we have a bad meal we can try somewhere new,ive been to cyprus 7 times.I tried majorca and zante last year but i just love cyprus.
hi didnt eat at the old town just had drinks here and there.tou get yhe bus from outside the hotel no 4, 10, that takes you to the old town as it is quite a trek costs 1 euro whereever you go we still saw them running at 12 at night. funny you mention cyprus we are going on the 5th november for our silver wedding never been before we are going to paphos.back to eating at old town we did go to sheerys bar for a meal which was relly nice it is round the corner from the church. but ther is lots of spanish restaurants at the old town.hope to hear from you on cyprus forum
Can men wear dressy shorts for dinner in the levante club?It doesnt say in the first choice brochure that you have to wear trousers
yes my hubby and other men wore dress shorts the linen type but some just wore ordinary shorts.after dinner we used to go over the road to the bottle and jug and i would have a tia maria with coffee very nice .
Thanks for that Di 6001,sometimes certain questions see silly but if you dont ask you dont know
Can anyone tell me which hotels are in the same vacinity as the lavente club, as my friends parents are staying there in September and she would like to go out at the same time, unfortunately she has been unable to get availability for the same hotel, but doesn't mind staying nearby.
Thanks
keanda
Hi keanda ... just next door to Hotel Levante Club, you have Hotel Melia Benidorm and Hotel Flamingo Oasis. Also reasonably close at hand are Hotel Dynastic, Hotel Regente, Hotel Mediterraneo, Hotel Sol Pelicanos/Ocas and Apartments Gemelos 22 - to mention just a few.
Thanks so much for the really quick response. I will have a look at some of the hotels and there prices and pass them onto my friend. I haven't been to Benidorm for quite a few years, but can you recommend any hotels which would suit. She is going with her husband and 9 year old daughter, and isn't too bothered about getting the same hotel, but she does want to be able to spend time with her parents whilst there
Thanks
keanda
That may not be important to your friends, but it may be best if you take a look through our reviews section for those hotels which I have mentioned. You may then be able to pick out the one which you think best suits their personal preferences and requirements.
David
Just got back from a fab week at this hotel. I've written my review, but any questions, please ask.
Booked to go again in 6 weeks!
HI There,
Well we didn't make it to breakfast, but there was plenty of choice for evening meal - it was served 7.30 - 10.30pm. There was always lots to choose from, and although a couple of dishes didn't look familiar, or appetising, we always found something we liked.
We have stayed half board many a time in Spain, and this was by far the best. Two soups to choose from per night, few meat dishes, at least one fish dish, always a lasagne or other pasta dish, paella etc as well as lots of salads and cold meats and cheese. The puddings were very nice - with lots of fruit salad, several cakes, profiteroles etc, as well as several flavours of icecream.
My husband is the fussiest eater I have ever known, and he didn't go hungry all week!
Hope this helps xxxx
Hi Again,
Landed at 5am today at Manchester weather in Benidorm 37 degrees all week. Levante Club Hotel is a lovely hotel but the food is shocking, last night there was a mutiny raw chicken and burgers we all complained. Most days we eat at a really nice place called Home from Home directly across from the hotel, excellent food. If anyone goes say hi to Louise, Paul and Claire tell them its fron Dannys dad. Benidorm was too busy for me and i wont be returning in a hurry, too many English bars, Its chips chips and more chips and the same cabaret acts following each other every night.
Sorry to hear you didn`t like Benidorm, did you go up into the old town.?

Hi. I'm sorry to hear that, but I respect that Benidorm, is not everyone's 'cup of tea'. I was talking to a work colleague yesterday, and she said she was off to Tunisia at the weekend, and I said I would not go there if you paid me to. I said it has to be Benidorm for me and she said "oh no, not THAT place, its a glorified Blackpool". Having never been to Blackpool I was unable to respond, but I love Beni, although I appreciate not everyone does.
I cannot really agree with your comments about "chips" with everything though, as there is a huge range of Restuarants to choose from with International Cusine from all over the world. And most Hotels provide an alternative to chips.
Yes its true to say that the local Cabaret acts do tend to perform in all the Hotels on a 'rota' style basis, but there is far more entertaiment to be had if you want it.
