Entertainment takes place in the ampitheatre as well as in the pool bar on the palace side. Not too sure about entertainment on the tropical side - there is definitely something on each night in the tropical ampitheatre and also one of the other bars - not sure which one.

Dont forget to try the wraps from the palace pool bar - sometimes you have to wait a while but the wait is worth it

thanks for the info ,we went there last year when it first opened
and i think the hotel was just finding it`s feet.we found the ampitheatre was not very good for talking to friends as you sit in a row !!we like to sit around tables so you can watch the entertainment and chat to the whole of your party.what thay should do is put some tables and chairs on the bit of grass at the side of the ampitheatre..... :?:

Just got back yesterday

All food is fine - we ate the lot and none of us were ill. (commom sense just drink lts of water and go sensible with the booze in the day)
Entertainment still very poor Im afraid.
Jeep safari with Mustafa excellent , but not for a 3 year old in my opinion!

My turn to ask some questions instead of answering them

We're staying at the Tropical this time instead of the Palace and I wondered is it really any different? The tropical was closed when i was there in may.

Are the restaurants basically the same? Same snack bars available etc? I thought I read somewhere that you can get cocktails at the tropical and what are these wrap things that you can get now?

Also how are the little childrens pools, at the palace we used mainly the one with the snake slide and occasionally the elephant one too, are there similar pools at the Tropical? We didn't really wander round it much?

Is there a similar little shopping hall at the Tropical too?

Thanks in advance for the answers to my silly questions.

Oh and one more thing, we've booked a jacuzzi suite this time too, are the jacuzzi suites the rooms that were in the four in a block time setting with the little pools outside? Also what extras do you get in the jacuzzi suites compared to a normal family room? Bathrobes or slippers etc?

Thanks again

We stayed at the tropical last september, and the kids pools are great. There's one with a central slide in the middle next to the main pool, then there's a bigger one with a few slides in next to the kids club. This one would be more suitable for 6-9 year olds.
The restaurants are much the same as the palace side, but imo a bit quieter. We ventured over to the palace a couple of nights, and found it to be a lot busier than the tropical. Our group much preferred the tropical, but everyone's different.
There is a little shopping area, with jewellers, leather goods, gifts, general shop ie papers, sweets etc, rug making and estate agents.
There was also the film room, and games room.
If some of that info has changed since last year, I'm sure someone will correct me.
Hope this answers your questions

You definitly get Bingo at the Tropical catherine!!!!!!

I think the "wraps" mentioned are the lunchtime kebabs from the pool bar, 1 day donner meat and 1 day chicken.

We had a jacuzzi suite at PALACE and it had bathrobes no slippers they were missing and the baths just had jets in it and our bedroom was totally seperate from living area and 2 air con units....not sure if Tropical the same.

You have to try the payable steak restaurant at the Tropical by the spa gardens it was yum yum yum and excellent service.

I agree with colin jeep safari definitly not suitable for a 3yr old but Mustafa will tell you that himself the 12 islands boat trip was good for that age.

If you prefer table and chairs as we did totally agree we hated the amphitheatre very anti social but we carried chairs and tables up to the balcony at the Palace amphi if we wanted to watch the shows there, we started off a bit of a trend.
We thought some of the shows were really good.....a lot of effort put in my the e3 team.
We usually prefered to sit a pool bar thou and do the quiz and listen to singers most of whom were very good.

To be honest Catherine they were horrid!!! In my opinion but i hate donner meat so obv i didnt even try them, the first time i had a chicken one i thought it was nice then had another and yuk but i only like lean meat and it is the chicken that is like donner meat if you know what i mean on the big skewer so it has big lumps of fat in it, the salad they put in them is nice!!!
Other thing that put me off when they shaved off the top layer of meat it is obv all raw underneath and i have a thing about undercooked meat but no one i know was ill off them just me being weird!
Other people in our group had them nearly everyday and loved them.
They are served where they do the burgers, toasties tuna melts etc but at the opposite end.
Before you go back have a peek at redcoats on sky253 (i dont watch it by the way my firned pointed it out to me) and look at Dan the redcoat it is Dan the entertainer from PP i am 99% sure same look and voice just looks a little younger and no goatie beard.

donner type kebabs are always like that vicky cos they are cooked from the outside in, but i agree with you that they weren't terribly nice. we tended to use the buffet restaurant at lunchtime as well as the evening, then the kids, who are just constantly hungry, would often get a slice of pizza as well just before the snack bar closed in the afternoon.

Dont worry about your daughter we always go abroad and my son 6 has never been ill we go every year and my baby who turned 1 just before we went to PP was fine he ate all the fruit, salad he particularly loved the fresh pizza at lunch (not my usual choice of food for a baby i might add but it was so fresh i didnt mind) he drank the water out of the water cooler just took my own juice for him i had no problems.
He wa in the pools most of the time he was awake and no ear infections so please dont panic she will be fine.

The 12 islands is a boat trip you can do with FC (they call it family cruise) or Mustafa in Sarigereme tours which is who we used they take you to Goeck on a mini bus about 30mins then you board a double decker boat with seats and tables down stairs and a bar then upstairs in sunbathing area and a shaded area also (this is the boat mustafa uses dont know about FC boat) you sail around 12 islands and they tell you the history etc which is why we went with Mustafa much more personal touch to it and i would say probably more info they stop 5x where you can get off boat and have a swim they have life jackets for kids to swim in so your daughter should be ok my son used a life jacket and loved it. It is a full day with a really nice lunch of chicken salad rice and chips included.
I think it was £15 each and kids 0-7 free 7-12 half price.
You pay for drinks on board and also stop at the famous pancake island where pancakes are about 5 lira each and to be honest they are nowhere near as nice as the free pancakes you get between PP and PT (the lady there appreciates a few coins as a tip for yummy pancakes oh my mouth is watering).

We stuck to the pool bar for lunch as the pizza was soooooo nice and the tuna melts toasties jacket potatos etc were ok aswell.

Have a great time

 Alex uk i`ve got 2 boys that are like that also,i would never dare to take them on a boat for that same reason, for fear of them jumping over BUT my mum & dad think nothing of taking them on a boat & have done a couple of times,& they were fine,so i`m sure your 2 will be,
if any of that makes sense

I know how all you mums feel. My little boy will be 3 in December and my little girl 2 in January. I was a bit worried how everyone would react to children over in P/P and P/t as my two are wild, but it sounds like I'm not the only worried mother with crazy kids.(only kidding their not that bad)

We are going o the 25th September and some of you will be back by then and I was wondering if anyone can give us some advice on any excursions that would suitable for our kids.

Thanks in advance

Nicola

Hi Peeps,

Yes you can get chewing gum at the pp, my dh has the same 40 a day gum habit, unfortunately I still have the fag habit

Re boat trips and the pp with wild kids, my little fella was four last month, so was 3 when we were out there. He is MEGA hyper and is currently awaiting an adhd diagnosis, I'm sure you get the picture. Anyway, we did the mudbaths and turtle beach boat trip with Mustafa and he was brilliant, loved the boat and even fell asleep on the way home, something he hasn't done since he was 11 months old.

Also, I was worried how he would be at the kids club, but as all the reps love kids to bits, they just thought he was wonderful, full of life and character and they'd lost a wee friend when we went home.

Don't worry about, what I've discovered over the past year more than anything is that when you see your kids as being a bit wild, most other people see them as being full of life and character.
