Hi christine, sorry it took so long to post a reply, but we stayed at the Occidental Caribbean Village Agador. It has got very mixed reviews some quite bad but there was 31 of us who went and we never had any problems what so ever and enjoyed our holiday very much. If I wanted to get picky then I could but it's not even worth mentioning as they were put right straight away with no fuss atall. We went with an open mind and then decided for ourselves once we got there and like I said were glad we went as it was one of the places we wanted to travel to and have done now. It is a muslim country and a culture shock but we enjoyed that and the kids want to go back next year but as yet have not booked anywhere as we had alot of travelling to do as we could only fly there from Birmingham and we live in Bristol, which was abit of a pain seeing there was so many of us. :D

We did actually go into first choice to query this holiday after reading the increasing number of bad reveiws. We could cope with most things, rust in the bath, a touch of algae in the pool, dirty apartments that i would clean myself, but not food poisoning. first choice assured us that there were no outbreaks of food poisoning and if there were they as tour operators would be first to know about it. The person i had spoke to had actually been there personally in June hiself and couldn't beleive the reveiws. They offered us a swap to the Ramada, read the reveiws on that which were worse, so decided to stick. Just going with an open mind, going to be careful what we eat, take immodium and hope for the best. Really looking forward to it. Won't be going again whether we like it or not as we all made a rule never to go the same destination twice. Too much of the world to see. 3 more sleeps

I have booked cheap flights to Marrekesh for a three night stay in December. Have heard that it is pretty chilly at night but warmish during the day. Good enough for me that!

places to stay that have been recommended to me are the Riads in Marrakesh. This is a site withn a few but thre are other sites with many more at diffrent prices.

This also is an intersting site for extra info.

Gooner.

try this site as well. I think it is good to be within walking distance of the main square. It is called Jamaa or something like that.

anybody know what the prices for alcohol, food and gifts outside of the complexes

Hi, we were in Agadir in July this year. The prices for alcohol is obviously alot cheaper outside the hotels depending on what you drink. The food and gifts are very cheap also, again depending on what you intend on buying. Some shops are fixed price shops and others you can enjoy a very friendly barter. We had many good bargains especially on leather shoes, handbags, belts, sunglasses and watches. On our complex we had a nice shop that sold trainers and clothes, so we got to know the people in there and had excellent deals on trainers and designer jeans and tops (copies of course but good ones at that) The kids thought they were great so thats all that mattered

Had a fab time Deb. 11 of us went altogether and although the food was sometimes undercooked, we changed no problems and we also never had stomach upsets. 3 boxes of Immodium came back home with us unopened.

how much is the beer and spirits? leather goods how cheap are they?

Not really sure how much beer and spirits were. We stayed all inclusive and the only spirits i bought were on the plane (1 litre vodka and 1 litre bacardi for £15). leather goods are what you actually want to pay for them, u tell them YOUR price. I paid 200 dirhams (approx £12.50) for 2 very large pouffies when they were asking 220 dirhams each. Always pay less than half. Set your price, stick to it and then walk away, they will follow you. Things are much cheaper in the souks. Word of advice if taking a trip to the souk, establish a price with the taxi driver before you get in and tell them you need fruit and veg so you end up the right souk (souk al had). we ended up down some dodgy side street where the taxi drivers make commision if you buy anything from their mates shop.

thanks for that, we are all inclusive as well, but just wondered if we were out and about. Thanks again
