We always book the day they open.
All flights have been on time and even landing early!!!
Pat
PS. Yes you pay in full now.
Do you pay in full whatever flight you book, I thought you paid a deposit and then the rest 10 weeks before you fly - we are interested in the Glasgow / Sanford flights next summer.
We use them to go to Tenerife on a regular basis & as we can fly any day of the week we usually pick Wed or Thurs as they are quiet airport days
In the last year we have paid between £115 & £170 per pers usually towards the lower end
Yes you pay up front
FlyGlobespan's claim to be... "Scotland's low-cost airline" ...looks faintly ridiculous when you look at their 2007 schedule, flying on a Saturday. Their fares are now up there with British Airways. What exactly are they trying to do, attract a wealthier class of customer ?
I've been saying for ages that they are no longer a low cost airline. No frills yes, but not low cost. When they first began operating, they flew from Prestwick where landing charges were much less than Glasgow. We had 3 day AI breaks in Arenal for £79, regular 3-4 day breaks half board for the same or slightly more in Magaluff, Santa Ponsa etc. The most we ever paid was £121. You had to make your own way to resort then, which was a lot quicker than some of their bookable transfers now. I love to see a firm progressing, but they have priced themselves out of the low cost market now. The only advantage is their daily or almost daily flights, allowing short breaks which suit me.
FGS £120.00
Direct £200.00
Airtours £275.00
Thomson £300.00(Friday)
These are flight only prices per person and I believe Direct include a meal automatically. All I can say is welcome to Aberdeen, Flyglobespan.
We get quick check-ins more leg space than most charters & frequent flights at a very reasonable price most of the time so we are certainly not complaining
As to their Aberdeen flights/fares, they may well be doing what they did at Glasgow, start off low and once you have the market then quickly go up.
I used Globespan(using Air Transat) 5 times to fly to Toronto. I contacted them last January for a flight August 2006. I could not believe the price hike this year!. They quoted £150 more economy class, than what I went Club class 18 months previously!. Went premium class with Mytravel instead. Glad I did, the upgrade was great, the crew wonderful( thanks Nicole and Wendy!!), and the IFE was good too.

Am I understanding it right that if you book a flight only, you pay in full now. If, however, you book accommodation too then you pay a deposit of £50 per person and the balance eight weeks before departure.
Flyglobespan have canx there flights from Glasgow to Las Vegas and Barbados. Not sure why yet.
The reason Flyglobespan, cancelled the flight to Las Vegas and Barbados, as noone was booking it, they have tried it for a few weeks now, and the interest was very low, I think it was basically because they have not been advertising it , What is the use of releasing flights without accommodation.
As long as it is outwith 10 weeks of travel. All European flight onlys must be paid in full no matter when you are departing.
Hope that helps
Have just checked GSP flight 5/5/07 to 19/5/07 price quoted £380 6/5/07 to20/5/07 price quoted £310 however if you fly 7/5/07 to 22/5/07 price is £230
with low cost airlines you must be flexible
You don't need to work hard to figure out that most airlines (all ?) are cheaper mid-week than at the weekends. Unfortunately most apartment bookings in Mallorca are Saturday to Saturday. Anyway, I don't need to be flexible, I just saved myself £160 with no flexibility at all.
just had email off globespan our flight from liverpool to tenerife on the 10th of november will entail flighing to stansted to pick up passengers so the flight is now six hours each way i was just going to book for january but now booked with thomsons and it was £25 cheaper
I understood that according to FlyGlobespan this is only from 1/11 till 21/12, then reverting to a direct flight. I can only assume a lack of bookings has resulted in this decision. GSM management do make quick decisions on axing or curtailing services if considered appropriate. At least the flight was not cancelled. As for cheaper alternative - guess u win some and you loose some.
