oh dear,
just been looking on the resort reports on icmeler,most are saying that the music stop's at midnight in all the bars,is this the case,if so i think we will be heading towards marmaris after all,as the night is still young at midnight,or can anybody tell me if that is not the case,

Marmaris stops when you stop Bibby.

give me marmaris any day... its absolutley brilliant, everyone is so friendly, its nice and clean, "cheep as chips"(as the market traders say) theres something for everyone!
cant wait for next year...and the next...and the next, personally myself, i will never go anywhere else again!

i thought i had got it sorted,found the hotel i wanted and was looking forward to hollidaying in icmeler,then found out they have a curfew in the evenings,so it looks like marmaris comes out on top,i have to start all over again now,looking for the right hotel to stay in,oh well i spose theres a lot worse things i could be doing with my time,

ps,what happens if i dont stop ?

bibbs give altinkum some consideration in my opinion it is much better than marmaris not so spread out and no curfew plenty of night life into the small hours and 3 nice beaches go on give it a try.

had a busy weekend,but back home now,think i will do as you say and take a look at altinkum,at least im down to only the two destinations,so how hard can it be to make a final decision ???,

what do you mean by curfew. if you mean when music stops playing that is pretty much the same all across turkey. The only exception is nightclubs that have sound proofing and they can be found in most tourist resorts including icmeler and marmaris.

didn't mean to sound like i was knocking icmeler, but bars that stop the music at midnight are not for me,i am on holiday after all,i was just going by what i have heard and read on the different resorts,and i have found that marmaris and altinkum do carry on partying into the small hours,so long as the doors and windows are closed,i dont know if its the same in icmeler as i have only seen reports saying that they do stop the music early,we do like to go to the night clubs,but not every night,its nice to have a drink in a bar with music,where we can sit and chat,and soak up the atmosphere.

I have been to Marmaris twice this year, and the music continued in the bars I went to, not night clubs. But at midnight they do stop the music, then you go inside and the doors are closed. We partied until about 4am most mornings/nights lol.

I am a novice to Marmaris, infact Turkey. July 06 was my first visit and I loved it so much I went back in Sept. Still love it so going back in May next year as you know.

I cant remember the names of the pubs, restaurants etc, but the few I remember was the Taj Mahal, wonderful food. Then there were a few across the road and up to the left, wonderful food there too, lol, but I had a brilliant steak, on more than one occassion in Natalies Steakhouse, and also Alexandras, which are both on the beach front.

Mmm, Pubs, I cant remember the name of any of them. I just found my way to the regular ones,and it takes you so long to get in by the time you kiss and hug all the waiters that know you and treat you like old friends after only one visit. Never took no notice of the names of the pubs, just knew the ones that were really nice, great waiters, reasonably priced drinks etc.

im sold on marmaris now,we shall be going back to beldibi in may,as this has been booked,but i want to go to marmaris as soon as possible,so as you are there around the same time as im in beldibi,your going to have another chance to visit and remember all the great places to tell me about on your return,here's a tip,ease up on the vodka and you just might remember some of those names for me,pmsl,

Great tip Bibbs, why didnt I think of that when I was there??? Who needs to know the name of a pub lol, I just go and enjoy myself. I will make a mental note of the names in May when I go, and let you know on my return. I speak to some people in Marmaris, and I will try and get you the info needed. I know one pub was called Beaches, right on the front, Bar X is another, more youngsters there, but depends on how you class yourself and also a great karaoke bar. I gave it my special'Rose Garden'.
